Ride to Shaniko
Such a nice day out here. Decided to take a trip to Shaniko and Antelope, with detours on Bakeoven and Shearar's Bridge Road.

On my 3,000 mile road trip, Eastern Oregon was one of my favorite rides, there's not to many places left to ride like the Eastern Oregon twistys in the United States, the open roads and lack of cars & Leo's make it truly special, I'm truly envious of your ride...

The day was full of empty roads; I only saw one other bike and a handful of cars. Oregon really is like no other place.
Here is the routemap: ![]() I didn't get to take any pix of Bakeoven Road because I really haven't found a convenient place to pull off and capture the landscape. If you do make it out to Maupin, a trip over Bakeoven Road is really worth it. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...38452&t=p&z=15 Last edited by howl; 10-25-2008 at 11:49 AM. |
