I'm hopin to come up soon. I rode a bit today with some guys on sportbikes. We had a great time, but I ground off the hero tabs on the right. The left is still semi-intact. I'm tryin to decide what a reasonable amount of miles to do in a day is to see how much time off I need to make it. I have to take a day and ride hard then subtract a few miles from that, and then figure that for an amount I can do... I'm thinkin maybe 500 in a day shouldn't be awful but I haven't done that much yet.

Lower Nehalum

It's east of the Necanicum Hwy, the last leg of the infamous Clatskanie-Nehalum section. It looks like it tracks the railroad which would suggestion it's big sweepers but it looks pretty twisted on the map.

I think on Sunday, my son and I are gonna piece together a bunch of windy roads from Woodinville up to Bellingham and back...

High Bridge Road
Ben Howard Road
Old Machias Highway
Burns Road
Hwy 9, Arlington to Sedro Wooley
Bow Hill Road
Cain Lake/Park Road
Mosquito Lake Road
Southbound on Chuckanut
Improvise last 50m south - maybe ready for some freeway by then.

You should consider submitting some of your ride logs to www.roadsnw.com.

I'll make a point of making good on the coffee offer with you before the riding turns wet. Is Johnson Creek/Skookumchuck worth the trip to Olympia to ride? Or maybe you have some secret paved logging roads out to the west?

PM with your address, I'll met you at your house for the ride Sunday, I should learn were you live anyway since it's Grand Central for all the PNW rides. Maybe have time for breakfast? Or should I eat my Captain Crunch and wait for lunch in Packwood...

Well the good news is I got the information out of RVFR on which road this is, the bad news is I couldn't ride it out of him. The man has skills.

But the ride yesterday was awesome, RVFR knows the Washington twistys better than Lewis & Clark. How many times can you go on a ride and say you seen Washington's two greatest attractions up close. Mount Rainier and Mount St Helens. I had no idea that the eruption caused so much devastation for that many square miles.

It is like you go from the most scenic area with wildlife and 100-200' trees to a nuclear waste land.

40 bikes on the ride yesterday, never been on a ride that big, but ended up riding in a 6 man group, but that's a different story...
