We need to get some pics too. 3 VFRs together is a beautiful sight.
Definitely a great ride and thanks for your navigation skills!

It was a great ride. I agree. We need to map out Breakfast / R&R (maybe a beach along the bay)/ Lunch and a route home. All in all it was a fun time. Thanks for having me along.

Too bad I missed it.
Always good to see pics of a VFR group ride.
I just realized I only have this saturday for a ride.
Then, I have busy weekends until mid July.

where are the pics? I spent Sunday on my drag boat with a friend and family... well, actually it is a ski boat, but my buddy just got dragged all afternoon.

he was a good sport and tried many times. getting closer, but he's a big boy.

7/26

Saturday 7/26? Anybody interested? I have no idea what or where the destination will be, but I'm planning on riding all day.
Perhaps we can meet Nozzle at Tim's II for Aquapalooza if he's out on the drag boat in the evening.

Guess its just me then. I'm taking the RC. There will also be a 929 and a Superhawk, sure would be nice to have a VFR in the mix.

I'll be watching this thread. I'm new to riding, but I've got an '86 and a brand new '07. I'm in Norfolk and itching to get away from flat land free of curves.

Definitely when I get back in a couple weeks. Its nice to see somebody that has a similar taste in bikes too.

Glockem- PM me your number and we can meet up sometime. Maybe we can do a trackday together? I work near Manassas so I'm up in the area a lot.

I'm assuming you are talking about today 9/21. I'm already scheduled for a group ride on one of the local sportbike forums. Should be a good time. One other think I saw another white 6th gen yesterday out in Gainesville. Had some sort of undertail kit or something and the ride had what I thought was a gray helmet on.

Hey be careful which local biker forums you are talking about riding with. There are several, but certain ones will get you in trouble and are full of squidly type riders that the cops will be targeting. Just a heads up.

+1 on that. But if you do go for a "fun" ride make sure it is a long way away from here. There's a lot less fuzz in the sticks.

.net and I know pretty much all the people that are on the rides. The only posted rides I got on are what we call newb, noob friendly. Meaning, no railing and everyone is expected to ride their own ride. The pace is always chill on those rides.

Today's report- We had a very large turn out and broke into three groups. We headed out of the Haymarket area and like everyone else we headed west. The leaders of each group had been out the day before to recheck the route and mark down some trouble spots. My group was lead by a rider that has many track events under his belt. He had nothing to prove to anyone and kept the pass at an active pass. We made our way out to the Mt Weather area and made a quick pass but nothing that was over the top. We ate lunch and made our way back to the Haymarket area by way of a couple of back roads. Out of close to 30 riders between 3 groups and not one oh shit moment reported. This is my second group ride and I have to say I'm impressed with how they have both gone.

I understand some of your concerns when it comes to the sportbike forum rides/riders. It would seem inherent that it would induce squids and squid like behavior. But I have found that much like any group, you find out who you want to ride with and who you don't want to ride with. When you hear stories of riding the beltway and like roads at 150+ then you mark those people down for not riding with. But those people are usually not up to the task of taking turn so they and their "out to prove something" attude don't normally show up. If by chance they do, they are in the back too scared of every turn.

Well I was out last Sunday, Monday, and today for some fun on 211 and Skyline Drive. It was fun, as I have really gained a lot of skills riding on the track, such that I was dragging hard parts and my feet on some of the twisty sections on 211. This damn VFR is so much fun, it ain't funny.

But as for camp outs, I am certainly up for it and I am sure my wife would do it to, but she rides a Monster. Just let us know where and when.

Anyone riding tomorrow?

I'm down for camping.

And yes I'm riding today. But I am working as well so I only got to freeze my off after dropping the VFR for the first time ever backing out of the garage. The damage was limited to my left box mostly. Glockem- stop by my station today. Coles District at 234 and Hoadly.

I assume you mean that large fire station I.E. Coles Fire Station? :)

If I pull up, who should I ask for, or will you see me? :) I am thinking about going for a quick spin, and I might run down there.

Pretty sure I ran into you and your wife at the Shell station on 234.

I went out yesterday to skyline and 211 with some friends. This was me entering in to a nice right hander. It's too bad that our camera guy wasn't posted just after the turn. I pushed the bike over probably the farthest I have ever before. Would have made for a much better pic.

Well, we should link up sometime. I would love to head out with another vfr!
