Good to meet you Hotbrakes. Damn, it was cold coming back though. I was going to stop and fill up but I said screw it and came back home.

Lets try to hook up for a spin out to WV before the weather gets too cold.

Yea brotha. Anytime. Yes, we certainly met at the Shell station, as that was right after I bought my new VFR 2-3 months ago. :)

Lets try to link up with Hotbrakes and head out west to WVA for a 2-3 day ride before the weather gets too cold.

Well, we should link up sometime. I would love to head out with another vfr!

I would love to ride West Va.
I grew up in Pittsburgh and spent alot of time in WV. Mostly underground. I was an avid spelunker in the 80s.
But all those mountain back roads are still vivid in my mind.

Hey all... fellow VA rider here. I saw one other person from Stafford. I'm in south Stafford off Butler Road. Went up towards Skyline Dr. this past Sun without actually getting on. Lots of traffic around Sperryville. We took off on some backroads off 522. Beautiful day for a ride!

Next time, let us know your riding plans with a little more detail and I could have met you there, especially this past weekend when it was such nice weather to ride.

There was a link in his original post to a Concours forum where a buddy of his had posted plans to meet in VA beach VA. I agree, it would have been better for him to post the actual plans for the ride in our forum, but I had a great time riding with them anyway. Most of y'alls rides are in NoVA and a little too far for us guys from se va to get to. We had a great time though, one of they guys had plotted a backroads route on his GPS. There were acutally some fun twisty roads in our flat part of the state. It was my first group ride and I had my wife on they back of my vfr 800, so I guess I made it more challenging for myself, but she had a good time on the ride, too.

Anyone down for a ride this weekend? The weather forecast looks to be pretty decent both days. I don't have anything in mind as I'm still learning routes. So I'm not much help when it comes to leading.

Sure we could try to go ride. How about today (Friday)? I pulled the bike out to get it all cleaned up and shiny. Perhaps a ride is in order? Let me know, as I know several routes we can take.

This day wasn't that good to me. I had court, 62-35, reduced to Failure to Obey a Traffic Sign. That scored me 3 points on my DL for the next 3 years! But much better than getting the speeding ticket! But then I realized I had left my wallet at my office yesterday and I had to call the wife up to the court house to pay the fine. Wow, court costs are no joke! The fine was $50 and the court fees were $62 plus had to pay for parking! Damn you FFX! But with the wallet being at work, I had no choice but to come into the office to get it, boo! Now I'm debating on whether or not I will head out tonight after work for a quick run of some sort. Now if the mother-in-law is at the house this evening I'm heading out!! Sucks that it will get dark on me real quick!

Going to sheetz in haymarket to meet up with friend for a nice causal ride Today. Not sure what the route will be but my friend says he needs to be back by at least 3 today. I would be willing to stay out longer and he has no problems with peeling off and making the trek back home by himself. If you are interested, we are meeting at 12 today and probably rolling out by 12:30. Look for me on my VFR and my buddy Erik on his Red 675.

Matt

Hey guys, if you get bored riding around in the nice weather stop by the station. I rode in this morning- 32 degrees and I liked it. Ya'll should use the station as your meeting place. I might be able to sneak out some coffee.

OK, too late for me... The wife caught up to me and now I have STUFF to do.

Next weekend is possible. Not up for the 32degree mornign tho. I had enough of that this past winter riding in 30 and sometimes sub 30s temps.

Can't make it out today. I have to drive up to National to pick up my nephew and take him down to meet his mother.

I subscribed to this thread with instant email notification so I can stay up to date. As long as I check my email, lol!! Ride went really well. Did a Marshall loop and ended up in Front Royal for lunch and of course came back up via 55. Pace was very relaxed, almost a sight seeing pass without much to look at. It turned out to be 4 of going out. I'm going to do some more rides with my buddy Erik that owns the 675. He rides a very chill pace and knows a lot of good routes to take in this area. Next time we go out you should seriously come out. I don't know what type of pace you like to run and I'm guessing that is the problem with riding with new people. You never know what you're going to get. IMO, even if our pace is too slow for some, it could possibly give you some new routes to try out on your own.

And Hotbrakes- Where is your station??? I would love to have a meet up of VFR's next weekend!! Lets get the ball rolling on something for next Sunday!!

I'm at Dumfries Rd and Hoadly Rd- Coles District Station 6.

What do ya'll think about a good long ride? Meet around 8am on Sunday, wheels up at 0830 and head to a place where there aren't many other people, about 400 miles total? Home by dark. Here's a link to the route I have in my mind. Check the box at the top of the page to show a map. We take this route frequently. The mountain section is like Deal's Gap (well almost). We will always be close to a main road so splitting off is easy.

I love that route. As long as we can find a BBQ joint somewhere down south, that would be cool with me.

As for the pace, I got to be honest that I don't want to speed on the street. I save going fast for the track. I will go quick in the turns for sure, but the straights there is just no point in speeding anymore for me.

I don't understand though, I have instant email notification on this thread as well, yet I only get like every fifth post on here so I have been missing many of these posts.

His station is way down 234 bypass on the right as you are heading south just after the Hoadly Road turn. Also, there are some hotties working there at the station for sure. Hotbrakes, whats up with all the cute chicks working there?

Hotbrakes - that route takes you right past me in Fredericksburg. If you get that setup, I might be able to hop in with you all when you get off exit 110 on 95.

Glockem - I'm signed up for instant email notification on this thread too, but I'm not receiving any notifications. I can't even post a reply by click on the post button. I have to click on the 'quote' button on the last post to get it to allow me to post and just delete the text that appears in the box before I type. Makin' it through though.

What's the pace of this ride? I'm not trying to get a ticket for doing 20+ over. I just don't want to hold people up.

- Mike
