I couldn't find a Virginia rider thread, so I figured I'd start one. I know there are a couple of you in VA and we should try to get together some now that the weather is beautiful.
Sunday 4/13, a few of us are meeting in Oilville near I64 to head to the mountains around 10am. Let me know if you wanna go.
Larkin
I'm in Stafford, send me some directions and I'll ride Sunday morning.

Anyone close to DC? Looking to get some miles outside the District.
I know one guy close to DC (Leesburg) but his VFR lives in PA now. I bought it last Sept. There is another guy in Haymarket VA (not far south of Leesburg). He goes by Zupatun on VFRD and also posts under his given name on the VFR email list. Both are great guys. I've known Zupatun longer and have ridden with him quite a bit over the years I've known him. We're planning to get together and ride to and at the COTU rally coming up next month. Zup's track bike is actually in my care as I'm writing this. I'm in the Pittburgh area.

Awesome ride yesterday. Sometimes its nice to ride when no one else is...panzies. That was one of the best rides I've ever been on. Usually riding that area consists of an hour of straight boring roads before we get to the twisties. Glad Steve knows his way around.
I saw some black clutch and brake master cylinders on ebay for about $30 each. Not a bad price for a cosmetic upgrade.
Keep Sunday open!
Also let's not forget how great lunch was! I caught a little rain going through Orange county for a few minutes but the rest of the ride home was clear.
I am doing all of the wife's honeydo's on Saturday so Sunday is definitely open, this time without the bags!
My wife and I would be interested too, we live in Richmond.
Sunday, 4/20, 10am-ish, West side of Richmond, or near 95 before 10am.
Lets go play in the mountains.
Where in the West End? River City Diner on Parham? Eat and then ride?
Robert
No time to eat...too many good roads to ride. Kidding...we usually don't do breakfast together, maybe some coffee, then ride for a couple hours to a good restaurant in Lovingston.
If we ride with the Richmond Ryders, they usually meet at Quioccasin and Blue Jay Ln at a Brazilian restaurant.
PM your number and I'll call you once I figure something out.
Riding to the mountains out of Richmond tomorrow 5/3. PM if interested. 0930 at 522 and Huguenot Trail.
Shaun
I live in Alexandria, VA drop me a line at Charles.bibby@us.army.mil
Bitterpil here....
I live in Prince William. I am only 45 mins or so noth of Richmond and 35 mins sounth of DC. I am up for ging on some rides.
I know where that is.
I'm not out and about today cause my allergies are KICKING my BUTT. I will proabably be out and about tomorrow. If or when I get out tomorrow, I will stop by the station.
Cool, I'm here til 6pm. We shouldn't be out on calls or anything.
I never made it out this weekend. I tried... But the swelling in my eyes was still to bad to go riding.
Sorry to hear that. THey do suk though don't they. In a few more weeks all the plants will stop mating and we'll be able to breath again and get out on these bikes.
I'm a long way from VA at the moment but in September we are coming over to the USA, firstly to go to the MotoGP at Indy, then we are hiring a BMW1200GS for 10 days from Richmond. Hope to do the Skyline Drive and the Parkway. It would be great if we could meet up with some of you.
Are there any restrictions to using dark visors in VA, or anything else I should know.
Thanks
Ian
I am in VA and you just can't ride at night. I use a iridium tinted visor. Without it you'd go blind.
Anybody want to ride Sunday 6/22? I want to head to the mountains below Charlottesville and possibly to Lynchburg. I get off work in Manassas at 6am. Meet up around 7am in the Stafford area at Starbucks in Garrisonville and head south. Should be around 400 miles, and that's what VFRs are made for. No major roads once we get south of Fredericksburg, all fun back roads.
You in Bitterpil? VANTCPTR?
We will never be far from major roads like 29 and I64 so if you can't do the whole thing and have to break off or are worried about finding your way back, it shouldn't be a problem.
Let me know if you can go. Oh and since we will be meeting people along the way, it will be very important for everyone to be on time. I know I'm guilty of making people wait, but with a long day we gotta get on the road. So don't party too hard the night before.![]()
Hotbrakes...
maybe next time. hope you have fun out there. - Paul
You guys have a fun ride. I can't make it for the next 2 weekends.
Deny everything!
CRAP! I guess we all are never gonna get out. I was planning on going this Sunday but Now I have an event for work. You know the kind.... Voluntary but manditory![]()
So now I can't go either.
If it is this hard to get together to ride on a Sunday, imagine how hard it is going to be to get a large group to have a East Coast Meet.
Great ride today. We covered a lot of ground and saw some great scenery. I can't believe we only got lost once ha! That's gonna be one of my favorite routes now. We should go some time when we can stop and swim in the river and get some seafood. And put some knees on the ground on that one stretch...
FrankoQ- You should have come. We went to Colonial Beach, Tappahannock, and Bowling Green so we were right along 301 the whole time.
We need to get some pics too. 3 VFRs together is a beautiful sight.

Sorry I missed it. Let me know when you get another ride together. I'm helping a friend move this Saturday (but if you guys were going Sunday...)
