Several of us decided to have a "meetup in the middle" in the spur of the moment this week in order to meetup with Karen (VFRchick) and one of her friends from Vegas. Big Bear was the lopsided "middle" choosen to meetup at. Big Bear Brewery to be exact. I stopped at long's house, and then him and I went and picked up West (Fizz) in Temecula, and preceded to Highland to meetup with CebuVFR and Shayne. It was foggy, cold, and damp in LA, but on the way up the sunshine was abundant, and all was well! On the way up, the five of us took a decent pace up the 330 to the 18 heading to the brewery. Well, we beat Karen and her friend there, so we decided to intercept them on their way in.....worked out perfectly as we just parked at a turn off area, and low and behold here they came. The ride was long for them from Vegas, but they seemed happy to finally be at Big Bear and see some twisties. We then went back to the Brewery and had some pretty darn tasty burgers and sandwiches. Karen even surprised us all and started jamming on the piano....she can play good I tell ya. From there we went down some twisties to Lake Arrowhead, shot the shit for a spell, looked at the beautiful scenery, then went down the other side of the mtn. It was a sweet ride down with some nice fast sweepers as well. I know that the conditions were not ideal for Karen and Patrick on their long journey of slabbing..but hopefully it was worth it. I honestly had a great time!
A thanks off to Shayne for showing us some of his backyard. Thanks to all those that came. Enough talking...he be the pics...

What a great day... thanks for posting the pics, Jason!! Patrick and I had a blast. The riding at Big Bear and hanging out with you all made the 3 hour slab trip totally worth it!! Plus, we did what we could to keep it interesting for each other there and back... good thing there weren't many cops around! Shayne and Westley, it was great to finally meet you guys and hang out/ride with you!! Finally got rid of the chicken strips on my new tire!! We gotta do that more often!! Maybe leave earlier and stay later to get more twisty time in... or plan a weekend "in the middle"! Thanks guys for planning this and including me in it...
PS... Thanks for your help with my technical difficulties Uncle Jay-Jay!! Something with the laptop, but the desktop is fine.

BTW, meant to tell ya... I topped my top speed on the way home yesterday. AT one point, Patrick and I had a long stretch of highway with no cars in sight so we hit it. I looked at my spedo and was at 151. Felt like butter and I knew I could have gone faster, but we were approaching those cars that we couldn't see 1 minute earlier, so we had to slow down!!

Thanks again for the ride! I had a great time and I'm in for the next one. I'd invite you all up here to Vegas but I am quickly learning that the best place to ride in Vegas is anywhere else.

Patrick, is that you? You're on the VFR Forum? Does that mean after riding with a bunch of VFRS, you have realized that it truly is a superior bike and you will be buying one soon?!! Hahahahahaha!! As discussed, you can give your Ninja to Jackie!!Welcome to the forum dude!! Glad to have you along for the ride!! What was your top speed on the way back?

151 mph?
let's break that down...
10 mph off for speedo correction
15 mph off for wind
10 mph off for road surface correction
30 mph off because you're a girl
so your actual top speed was 86. Not bad chicky!

Yes, yes I have joined the VFR forum. Don't tell anyone I have a Ninja. Yes, Shayne you are a giant. And Karen, I managed an extremely quick glance at my speedo and saw 150 - but I'm telling all of my friends 170.
Hmmmm....Since you are the only people I know, maybe that's not the best idea.

Always early at meetups but LATE at posting so here it goes!
GREAT RIDE THERE!!!
