    Ducati Demo Day at LVMS

    Date: April 26, 2009
    Time: 9:00am to about 4:00pm
    Place: Las Vegas Motor Speedway

I just found out about Ducati Demo Day at LVMS. If anybody's interested come on out and you can stay with me. Basically, you can take out their bikes on the track, in a controlled line, for free. If you have a Ducati (Scubalong!!) you can take your bike on the track and go as fast as you want for $50.00, which is a great deal to get out on the track!! I and some of my friends will be going... I understand it is to promote the Hypermotard, so you can ride that bike as well as the 848, GT1000, Monster 696 & Monster 1100s.

I've done some demo days before, but not on the track. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to put the bikes through their paces pretty well, but they won't let us get too crazy.

To take their bikes out, you need basic street gear... full-face helmet, gloves, minimum long sleeve shirt, preferably leathers. If you want to take your own Ducati out, you need full track gear.

    They will be providing lunch.

If you want to come, PM me to reserve your spot at casa VFRChick. I know it's a long way to travel, but I figured I'd put it out there in case anybody has nothiing to do that weekend.

So far, two, possibly 3 or more guys are coming out for this.

    Just a bit more info...

I've had a question on bringing your own Ducati. For that, it's standard track rules... needs one piece leather suit. I think a two piece zip-together may work. Bike needs to pass tech inspection, and if you've done a track day before you know what that means. You will need to make a reservation and pay the $50.00. You'll need to call 702.432.0650 to make the reservation and get all the details.

I also talked to these guys to get a bit more detail. He said they will have roughly 20 bikes there and it's first come first served... so, depending on how many people are there and what bikes they want to ride, we may have to wait a little bit of time to get to ride what we want. I asked about speed and he said they will most likely get us up to a good 75-80 MPH to allow us a good feel for the bikes. They will be doing 20 min. demos, then 20 min. straight track, alternating. Break for lunch at noon, then continue in the afternoon 'til 4. Should be a fun day! If you want any more detail, you can call 702.432.0650 to ask more specific questions.
