Uhoh - grinding
Rolled my '94 VFR out only to hear a disconcerting
grinding from the front sprocket - I think. I don't think its the chain - relatively new and there's binding no matter where the links are. Interestingly, the binding is most severe when the bike is on the center stand - that's how I found the problem. When on the stand the wheel can barely turn, with lots of grinding. When off the center stand the rear wheel rotates - course, the weight of the bike is helping. I'm thinkin' bearing - how big a deal is that? Anyone with any experience with this? digger __________ Life's been good to me, so far... _______________________________________________ vfr mailing list vfr@xxxxxx For subscription and delivery options: https://lists.cs.wisc.edu/mailman/listinfo/vfr |

Re: Uhoh - grinding
Boy, a rubbing chain would be great! Never thought I'd
say that. I'll take a look this weekend - would the rubber block bind up the chain so bad the wheel won't turn? Would it be effected by the side stand? Thanks! digger --- Fred Wills > Chain rubbing on the rubber guide block on top of > the swingarm? _______________________________________________ vfr mailing list vfr@xxxxxx For subscription and delivery options: https://lists.cs.wisc.edu/mailman/listinfo/vfr |

RE: Uhoh - grinding
Make sure your chain isn't too tight. As Fred mentioned it could be rubbing
on the block, and this happens if it is too tight ... and it can be most noticeable on the center stand. Carl -----Original Message----- Boy, a rubbing chain would be great!
