RE: R/R failure warning time / Onboard VOM.......

No, the Electrex units kept blowing frequently back when they were redesigning..too often to even have time to get a VM (I doubt your onboard Voltmeter reads ohms too!?)..Then my 98 took an off-road trip into some trees and boulders, never to live again. On the other hand, I have had not one ounce of trouble with my 2000, but I also replace the battery and go over the connections every 2 years.

R/R was failing was that all electrical power was immediately GONE while riding.
After*1 & 2 did you*install*an onboard VOM?

This is the single most important mod on ANY*VFR, IMNSHO

My onboard VOM lets me know*"What's Going On" with my electrons.......LOL.

Fred in CT w/ Ver. 96 and learned the hard way......and subsequent readings saved me from bailing out on some great trips and/or start to look for charging faults before getting stranded..............
