Georgia HSTA Ride March 9

Been a while since I've been on this list, but I thought I'd put out an
invitation to all those VFR who lurk here.

Eric Larsen
Georgia HSTA State Director

Cashiers Carolina BBQ Ride - Free Doughnuts & Coffee & Drawing for $50gift
certificate - sponsored by Moto 400 of Dawsonville, Georgia.

Sport Riders! Come join Honda Sport Touring Association for an informal ride
to Carolina BBQ in Cashiers, NC on Sunday, March 9. We'll have a rain date
of Sunday, March 16, Palm Sunday. All Riders and All Brands are welcome. If
you're not familiar with our group, we tend to ride at a disciplined
sporting pace for longer distances and often take multi-day group rides
together. You can read about us at www.ridehsta.com .

Our destination offers a terrifically fun and challenging ride up to the
little town of Tiger followed by a gas stop & break in Clayton, GA. We'll
then rides the whoops of WarWoman Road, and enjoy the river and heavily
forested land along GA/SC 28 and SC/NC 107. If our timing works out, we'll
try to see some waterfalls in Cashiers after lunch and have an opportunity
to get some good pictures of you and your shiny ride.

Steve Tucker, the GM of Moto 400 of Dawsonville, GA, has graciously offered
to provide Doughnuts and Coffee for us and, of course, invites everyone to
visit the dealership that is open 7 days per week for your convenience.
Speaking of being good hearted and interested in supporting the motorcycling
community, he has also offered a $50.00 gift certificate good toward any
purchase at the dealership! We'll have a drawing for this great reward. Moto
400 is on the left of GA 400 about 1 mile
north of the Outlet Mall. Take the left on GA 53 and then the first right &
head toward the Cinema.

If you are interested in a full breakfast, Lorena's Food and Spirits is on
the site adjacent to Moto 400 and is open for breakfast on Saturday and
Sunday mornings. The fare is appetizing and very affordable. Seating begins
at 9:00 AM.

Remember that the time leaps forward 1 hour on Saturday night!

As of Wednesday, the Sunday forecast is partly cloudy with a high of 56
degrees. Dress Warmly!

We'd like to have everyone gather for a riders meeting promptly at 10:15 AM.
We'll go over some suggestions for the ride and will welcome some ride
leader volunteers so that we know we can organize to have a maximum of 6
motorcycles riding in close groupings. This will allow us to do some safe
passing as needed. Our goal will be to be underway by 10:30 AM. Please have
enough gas for 75 miles. We'll be doing a gas and rest stop at the BP in
Clayton just north of the main intersection on US 441.

Your ride back can be as you choose with the opportunity to re-do our route
or travel to Highlands and then do 28 south to WarWoman Road.

It will be appreciated if you let us know you're coming on this ride by
posting on the Georgia Sport Bike website www.georgiasportbike.com so we can
be sure to have enough Doughnuts and BBQ! Add your response to this ride
thread on Metro Atlanta Rides and Events.
