Michelin Pilot Road 2

I've been running on the Pilot Road 2's for a few thousand miles now and I like them. I have used the Bridgestone 010, 020, 014, etc. combinations for a while now and I like the Pilots even better. So far the wear has been good and they seem to stick well, haven't pushed them too hard as of yet. The few times I was in the rain on them they felt good. I'll buy them next time too.

I looked at these last week also. Cheapest price I could find on the net that actually had stock was around $400 for a set (Dennis Kirk) plus delivery.

Ended up going the Dunlop Roadsmarts for $250 delivered.

The new Flops have had some very good magazine reviews (using blind testing of the Road 2s and others as well), and Dunflop claim these are their best wet-weather tire in the current line-up, so I'll see how they compare to the Avon Azaros / AV49 mix I've been running to date.

RE: Michelin Pilot Road 2

I just put an R2 on the rear and a Pilot Power on the front about 300 miles
ago. I still have a sliver of chicken strip I haven't touched, but so far so
good. Haven't had a chance to really push them yet. Been too busy, but will
be putting them to the test soon.

RE: Michelin Pilot Road 2

I had a Pilot Power on the front of my ZX12R for a while, in combination with an Avon Azaro rear. That tire (the Power) was great in the dry, but pretty sucked on cold, wet roads.Current ST tires stick so well in road use, I'm not going to bother with the sport rubber in future. Wet traction is far more important to me, as I do a lot of commuting and LD sport touring in all sorts of weather, and current ST rubber sticks a lot better on wet roads than the sportier versions.

Re: Michelin Pilot Road 2

Interesting you didn't like the Pilot Power in the wet...I've used it on a
wet track many times and it works just fine.

My experiences too. The Pilot Road 2 on the other hand, are a great tire in
the dry and the wet.
