RE: No respect/not gonna take it any more (warning:content mightbeoffensive to VFR troglodytes)
If memory serves me correct the folks @ Honda were pitching VTEC as a major technological breakthrough.
Problem is most people buy bikes based on HP, comfort, etc.. I know I've never bought a motorcycle based on noise & emission standards. The VTEC thing doesn't seem to attract previous VFR owners. I don't believe there is a high percentage of folks who owned Gens 1-5 who bought Gen 6. Perhaps I'm mistaken...but people (especially motorcyclists) are always looking for the latest & greatest. Looking solely @ the numbers, the 6th Gen VFR has kept up with the times. Yes, I had a 98 and now an 02. The 02 brakes, handles and has better driveability. A more refined machine.
Mike Sowers 949-274-2045 IPhone generated message On May 19, 2008, at 10:34 AM, Ron Baroody I'm on my 3rd VFR. My first was a beautiful black '92, then a '98 and now an '06 with the dreaded VTEC. Have to tell ya, to this rider, the '98 was significantly better than the '92 (but not better looking), and the '06 is significantly better than the '98. I like the VTEC motor and I don't find the power surge difficult to manage. I also like the crisp handling, the updated looks, the excellent instrument panel and the smooth power delivery. I know gear driven cams are superior, but I don't miss the gear whine. I have enjoyed all three bikes, but if I had to pick one to keep, it would be the '06. Just another person's opinion. Re: No respect/not gonna take it any more (this is a reallylong subject line)
Well, I'm sure that Carl would think throwing some gills and fake air ducts on it would be an improvement.
Lou would probably vote for some Caddy hubcaps? Ed with v.Klingon, but I'm sure that the troglodytes at that time (v.4 and earlier) meant that with affection >>> Tori Hi. My name is Tori,........ and i love my Gen 6 VFR. p.s. Lou, how can you say this is fugly ? http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...e/P1030861.jpg California Central Coast. _______________________________________________ vfr mailing list vfr@xxxxxx For subscription and delivery options: https://lists.cs.wisc.edu/mailman/listinfo/vfr |
