97 VFR 750 exhaust

Just bought a nice 97 VFR 750 and need a pipe; had a ' 94 about 10 years ago with a TBR carbon high mount but they only make low mounts these days. Found a Staintune high mount stainless but I have no experience with the brand any advice would be appreciated. I just need to hear that sweet deep V4 growl

Jay,

I have the TBR pipe and like it as you did. My buddy has a 96 with the
Staintune and he like it. No jetting is required with the Staintune. You
may find a TBR out there on the net or Ebay.

RE: 97 VFR 750 exhaust

Jay, you really can't go wrong. I have a TBR carbon low and really like it,
and ride with a lot of Staintune owners. I think the TBR carbon has a
mellower throatier growl, while the ST is a little more metallic, but this
is likely the difference between carbon and SS cans. They are high quality
pieces that hold up well so you wouldn't go bad with it. It does come down
to preferences ... You might be able to get a carbon sleeve to go over the
SS if you want the look.

Re: 97 VFR 750 exhaust

Jay,

I had a V & H Carbon Fiber Pipe that cracked when my bike went down. I was
lucky enough to find a lister (wish I could remember his name) that really
helped me out by selling me his low mount Staintune. Its a great pipe - good
sound and nice look. I would have gone with the high mount but I didn't want
to spend that much.

Just my .02 - Good Luck!
