Re: Hate to do this - tires / BT 021s GP....

Fred,

My last experience with Bridgestone was the 020's.
Severe cupping and lack of mileage did not impress.
Seeing the changed tread pattern and finding a good
price for the 021's at Chaparral last week ($207
total) I ordered a set, so I should be able to provide
a second (or first) opinion in the near future.

I'm heading your way next week - this year's m/c
wedding trip is to the east coast, the short version.
CT in June, BRP in July, Duluth in August, and NH in
September ought to give me enough of a baseline for
reporting ;-)

Cheers,
Greg

OK for the sake of experimentation, I'll be the BT
Guinea Pig.......

Just got a set of BT-021s delivered to the door
yesterday.

Look very nice and the front tread pattern has been
changed from the BT-020s and look not to be cup
challenged...... only time will tell.

They are going to replace a set of BT 020s.

Always "Slow" Fred in CT......

RE: Hate to do this - tires / BT 021s GP....

Funny thing is my Dunslops always cupped/scalloped like crazy. My 020's
didn't do that at all. The Stradas don't have enough mileage to tell
yet.

Clearly, YMMV...

PS, I'm told habits like late breaking into corners worsens the issue.

>From personal experience my guess is it's trail braking hard into corners and spinning up the rear coming out that cause the tires on my FZR to scallop. I ride my VFR at a more sane pace and haven't seen any scalloping (on my third set of tires on the VFR).
