FOUND GLOVES!! Christmas now seems to be over at this house. Pleaseread if you gave advice.

Thank you to all who offered information, advice and wisdom.

Held was by far the most recommended glove.

The local bring more wampum dealer had decided not to carry Held gloves
anymore. They gave no reason.

But they did have two pairs left. They were on closeout for 50% off.

I relieved them of their pair of Akira gloves in size 8.5.

Given all the information about how they will 'break in' I think this is the
right size for me.

The tag on these gloves says made in Hungary. New Enough also told me that
their Held gloves are made in Hungary.

I did find a pair of new Held Galaxy gloves on ebay. The item number is
8033285882.

This auction ends in about 22 hours. The last bid I saw was about $43.00.

These are size 9 and I know that they would be to big for my hands.

Thanks again to all who helped.

I also came away with a really nice Marsee tank bag. Damn I hate sale tables.

If anyone needs a tank bag, let me know. I have way too many. I need to sell
some of them.

Jerry

I also found this regarding where Held's are made.

"Like many labor-intensive products, the Held gloves are manufactured in
countries that can offer lower costs for sewing, the largest part of the
labor required for manufacturing. Despite the rumors that the former Held
importer has been spreading, Held gloves have not recently changed from
being manufactured in Germany to other countries with lesser quality
control. Held gloves have been stitched in the highest-quality factories in
Hungary, Pakistan and China under strict supervision by Held managers for
the past eight years. The Held gloves are designed and engineered in
Germany. All materials for all Held glove styles are sourced in Germany and
the patterns are cut in Germany. After stitching, all gloves are returned to
Held in Germany for 100% inspection before being shipped to the USA. The
result is the highest-quality glove that will give you years of comfort and
protection."

So who would that former Held importer be ;)

Regards, Tim
