NVRC: SoCal route suggestions.

Hi all,

Looking for some route suggestions from SoCal listers.

I'm doing a tour from SF Bay down to San Diego with stops in Santa Barbara and LA. Any suggestions on roads that we must hit or what to stay away from? Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

Trip is scheduled for March and we'll be taking our time.

Thanks.

Peter in SF

Oh boy, where to start, there are sooo many good rides :). This should
get you started.

North of Santa Barbara you've got:

33
Lockwood Valley -> Cerro Noreste

After you turn around and hit Lock Wood valley again, you can hit the 5.
>From there you can take the Castaic exit to find Lake Hughes Road

(awesome road). Then it's Elizabeth Lake Road (turns into Johnson Road,
bear right on Elizabeth road) -> San Fransisquito Canyon -> Spunky
Canyon -> Bouquet Canyon (turn right .. Awesome road) -> Vasquez Canyon
(left) -> right on to Serria highway -> left on Sand Canyon -> passed
the 14, turns into Little Tujunga -> over the mountians, which will dump
you on Osborne street at the 210 FWY.

South of Santa Barbara you've got:

The Santa Monica Mountains, in which are many roads to have a ton o' fun
on .. such as, Decker, Mulhulland, Tuna, Stunt, Deer Creek, Yerba Buena.

South of 405, look for Palomar Mountians (or something called that ..
maybe HWY 243).

Hope this helps and have fun,
Demian
