'94-'97 meter bulbs

Hi all,

Last fall, I completely dismantled the meters (gauges) on my '94. At the time, I was not aware that (according to my dealer) 10 of the bulbs are 1.7W and two of them are about 5W ( I think). Does anyone know which two sockets are for the higher wattage bulbs? My guess is that they are for the tach and speedo. There is one socket for each and a third socket that lights both the tach and speedo. It makes sense that all other applicatoins would take the 1.7W bulbs. I'm just not sure. I checked the service manual and it does not indicate a difference betwwen the bulbs.

Thanks in advance,
Wally

Re: '94-'97 meter bulbs

Thanks to Richard and the anonymous donor of the following tip. I had
looked in the service manual, but I was looking at the bulb installation
instructions, not the schematic. This helps immensely.

Thanks again,
Wally

A close examination of the service manual wiring diagram will tell you the correct wattage of the various bulbs. Might need to enlarge it or use a magnifying glass. Take it to Kinkos and have them blow it up poster size and stick it on the shop wall. Looks cool and comes in very handy.

The low fuel warning light is 5W. All instrument illumination is 1.7W

Looking at a 95 VFR Need advice...

I just sold my '92 VFR (hit a deer with it) and am looking at a '95
VFR. Very clean, couple of small cracks near the turn signal in
front and one in the mid near the frame rail. No big deal there.
Has a TBR Carbon fiber slipon, good tires, chain and sprockets look
new, seat cowl... No evidence of a crash. 46k miles. Asking
$2900.

What else should I look for? Any issues in the '95? RR issues?
This is at a Honda dealer, BTW.

Thanks!

Rob

VFRless at the moment...
