Noticing extent of damages

I got a new (to me) 02 VFR800 from an individual in Michigan last month and
was super excited about getting it. He informed me that when he was
traveling the bike had blown over in his driveway and gotten damaged. I had
just gotten my last bike paid for by the insurance company and this one was
less than the payoff was, so I thought about how I don't have a totaled bike
and the new one has minor surface damage from a blowover. Cool! So after a
six hour one way bus ticket and clearing the bank I chose to purchase the
bike nearly 'sight unseen' based on the photos that were sent - which seemed
to match the damages an excited lookover gave it.

And now, on closer inspection getting supplies ready for a winter storage
and a custom paint job, I am noticing that it had been dropped at least once
before - Not only was the saddle bag, right fairing and front cowl scuffed,
but the right side mirror is not factory and the right passenger handle/wing
is scuffed. Still not a big deal. Beware a seller telling you there is
damage on the bike and taking for granted they will reveal all the minors.
I've also noticed many tiny clearcoat chips and some paint spots where the
black shows through. That's still ok since I plan on painting it anyways.

So where can I find that mirror? Mismatched mirrors are silly. Does anyone
want to purchase a set of Red Givi E21 Cruiser MonoKey side bags? One has a
small scuff, which I can provide pictures of. I am going to switch to the
V35 set. I still need to contact Givi to see about if the mounting kit I
have will work for the V35 bags.

This winter I will likely be parting with the E35 Traffic TopCase to make
room for the larger E360.

Also, I have a Givi windscreen for this bike available as well. I'm 6'4"
and that thing blows the wind right into my helmet. Unless some of you
taller guys can make an alternate suggestion to parting with it and living
with the stock windscreen, I'm not taking another trip with the wind shaking
my neck to stiffness.

Thanks !

-tom

American jurors have complete Constitutional authority to vote "not guilty"
based on nothing more than a disagreement with the case, no matter the
evidence - despite the judge's instructions. There is absolutely no
obligation to vote "guilty" to arrive at a unanimous verdict. Get on a jury,
stand your ground, and fulfill its other main purpose: to counteract abusive
government and unjust lawsuits.
