nVFRc: Indy MotoGP happenings

A co-worker who is a regular Indy 500 attendee recently received a mailing
from the Speedway. It began with a recalling of the track's beginning with
motorcycle racing, and a brief primer describing MotoGP. It continued with
a description of the activities planned leading up to the actual Race Day!

I received my tickets earlier this week. Hopefully the South Vista Deck is
a good choice.

I was hoping to spend all day Friday in Indy, but work is calling, probably
won't get there until Saturday.

Thursday, Sept 11 - Watch MotoGP riders participate in live stage Q&A's.
Meet and take photos with the Red Bull Grid Girls. Walk the pits during Pit
Walkabout (race day ticket required) in the afternoon. Then head out to
Broad Ripple that night as Red Bull and its TNT stunt riders invade the
streets.

Friday, Sept 12 - First look at action on track! Practice begins for all
racing classes, and qualifying takes place for 125cc, 250cc, and Red Bull
Riders Cup (consisting of young riders ages 13-16). Then head downtown as
Red Bull shuts down the streets again and puts on an exciting XDL freestyle
sportbike stunt show.

Saturday, Sept 13 - On track action continues with more practice and
qualifying for the 125cc and 250cc classes, and qualifying begins for
MotoGP. In the afternoon, you can see the young Red Bull Rookies in action
during the Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup Race. That night, the Indiana
State Fairgrounds will host the Lucas Oil Indy Mile AMA Flat Track Grand
National as AMA riders compete on the dirt track.

Sunday, Sept 14 - It's Race Day! After morning practice sessions for each
class, the day will feature races in the 125cc and 250cc classes, as well as
the Red Bull Riders Cup. Then the stars of MotoGP will take to the track at
3 p.m. and speed down the front stretch at 200 mph!
