Battery Bug

Anyone have, used or seen one of these?
Battery Bug
http://argusanalyzers.com/battery-mo...12ps.html#c270

I'm considering on getting one for my 97 if it works and will put it on top of the battery on Gen4's. Yes it fits...at least on my bike.
55mm x 55mm x 19mm (sensor)

FYI I called the maker of them and was told the difference between the BB-SBM12PS & BB-SBM12
BB-SBM12PS said to be for motorcycles and not available to around October is the amount of cable and will have loops on the ends of the cables to help stay on the battery. The PS version is the same as the BB-SBM12 just will have around six feet of cable to mount any place your little heart desires.
I also asked for info on a GROUP Purchase discount. They will be getting back to me. If anyone wants one please post you do and which one. I will be getting the BB-SBM12 since I don't need any extra cable and will put in on top of my battery...if it will fit. I found the BB-SBM12 on line for $29.00 lets see if it gets better.

Re: Battery Bug

Why not just get a Battery Tender? From what I read in TFA, the "bug"
doesn't charge anything.

Nope never used them because I was told that they can be unreliable. Been using the "tender" since the late 80s and our bikes always start with no problems. Even after months of hibernating.

RE: Battery Bug

I don't recall ever seeing it before, but I suppose that it could be a
useful tool. If I was headed to Alaska, or Cape Horn, and I didn't have a
newer battery, I'd might consider installing a Battery Bug before the trip.
Otherwise, when I notice the starter cranking slower, I buy a new battery.

I do recommend a voltage meter to any 6th gen or earlier. Perhaps the VTEC
is somewhat stronger in this area. Time will tell.

I'm also a proponent of Battery Tenders. I'm currently on my second
battery.

Re: Battery Bug

If your going to say some thing like that "Claudia Glenn Barasch" please leave info on why (websites) I have not herd one bad thing about the Battery Bug.

FYI Guys this is not a charger all it does it tell you the condition/how much life your battery has several ways. I have also been using a "tender" since they came out...A "Battery Tender" is charger if that is what your referring to "Claudia Glenn Barasch"

Re: Battery Bug

No worries Claudia, I just wanted to say the facts and see if I missed any. I know this VFR Mailing list has it's problems like you mentioned. That's partly why I don't use it that often. The (other) VFR websites are allot easier to use and window shop which posts you want to know about,

Re: Battery Bug

They use to have a ferry from Rochester to Toronto and may still have one from Niagara on the lake to Toronto. If you have not been to the Halliburton, Ontario area you have to check out Parry Sound (30,000 islands) and
http://www.sportbikerally.com/
if your going on your bike Parry sound area has tons of good roads to ride. May also want to check out Manitoulin Island and take the ferry to or from Tobermory.
http://www.tobermory.org/
If you like the out doors you will love all of them. Way to may to list. A couple other VFR sites.

BTW we're passing Buffalo in about 2 hours en route to Halliburton, Ontario. Wish that there was a ferry to take us across and avoid the Toronto area. Any tips or a ferry we don't know about?
