Re: I hate cagers

Lessee, kidnapping, home invasion, battery, just some of the fun charges that the Po-Po could have thrown on you and your Ranger buddy. Fortunately for you, the police you encountered were a little more condoning of vigilante justice than most of the LEOS I encounter everyday.
As soon as you two burst through that door, you were in a world of felony sh*t. Any satisfaction you might have gotten wouldn't take the sting out of the ride downtown, the bail, lawyer's fees etc. etc.

Be glad you slid on this one.

As long as we are enjoying vigilante justice, how about a hoorah for the cager who pops the door to stop us from illegally lane splitting? Hmmmm, that riding boot isn't so comfy, is it?

RE: I hate cagers

Since the cops can't catch every crook because budgets are *always* a part
of life .....and the real law of the land is "don't get caught - and if you
do be damn sure you know the right people" ....the lesson here is:

If you're going to take enforcement into your own hands - which, as clearly
stated below is a major personal risk - following the lead of a trained
professional ain't a bad way to go.

Not that anyone would officially recommend that course of action.

Quite a rush ain't it? lol

Life with out risk is a boring wait for death.

I'm not sure that I would have kicked the door down, (especially
since I'm more of an ambush type). But then again I'm not a big fan
of giving second chances to animals like these that try to kill us.

You hit me in your cage when I'm on my VFR (There is the VFR content)
and I'll hate you for hitting me. If you stop and do the right
things, I will probably figure out that you are just stupid and
forget about it.
If you run from the scene and hide, then the hate, boils down until I
really care if you are still using up otherwise good air.

Its kind of like a quote from a trading card game (I'll let you guys
see if you remember it, - hint it was pre yu-gi-o and has a cyber
world sort of basis).
It goes.

'Friends' will help you move when you think you've be tagged.
'Friends' will loan you gear so you can make your escape.
'True Friends' will help you bury the bodies afterward.

In this case the "cop" are not really cops they are Delaware River
Port Authority radar gun wielding cop wannabee's. They took my
statement, and crunched through their digester and wrote "rider
states back tire unweighted and he slid off corner". Report and case
closed in their minds. It did not matter that I had two eyewitnesses
that saw the silver car not stop or slow, the official wording is in
the report.
That was part of why finding the paint enraged me so.

There will be no justice.

Me neither. There is not enough noise made about attempted manslaughter while
behind the wheel.

This cop that was assigned to our case was a motor cop, and he knew I wasn't
"cool" with being the victim of a hit & run, even after it cost me nothing and
my insurance was about to pay in full. In fact, I already had the check, but
did not cash it. I returned it back to them. They erased the claim from my
record with them as well. The cop saw it as no harm, no damage, no foul, I
believe.

True, but the girl was in no position to press charges. I had a
brother-in-law who was a lawyer at the time, so the risk was worth it to me. If I was gonna
get charged with battery, this kid would have gotten the beating of his life
until he sh*t out the money. And I would have stood in court and told the
judge exactly why it happened as well. Justifiable? Nope. But it needed to happen.
Once we saw that the kid was no threat to us and was not going to put up an
acceptable fight, he got slapped around a goodly bit, yelled at, shaken
soundly, dragged/stumbled down a flight of stairs and slapped/hit some more, leaving
no marks except tussled hair and his loss of face in public in front of his GF
and her neighbors. It literally scared the hell out of the kid. I think he
thought his life was in danger. Good for him.

Bet the little Fokker broke out in a cold sweat afterwards for a while when
he saw a motorcyclist go by him in traffic though.

Probably, but same scenario happened to me tomorrow? I'd place a satelite
call to The Sandbox and ask my Ranger buddy if he has a date for his return
stateside. After trying all legal routes, of course.

Lanesplitting is legal and heartily and roundly encouraged by the CHP
Association where I live. I cannot account for where you may live. Again, the level
of acceptable risk is up to each individual.

RE: I hate cagers

Please,
Somebody hijack this thread.
After all, I do quite frequently take the cage, and contrary to beliefs of
some of the hate-mongers on the list, every time that I get behind the wheel
my sole intent is not to murder every motorcyclist I see on the road.
