Re: Got the bike! First ride! / XRLS Ng........
If you have access to a dirt bike, imho, it's the best way to learn to ride. Most new street riders get hurt because they're focused on working the controls and not looking up the road at grandma getting ready to pull out in their path.
Riding in the dirt gives you the opportunity to master the controls and provides for a much softer landing when you fall. And dirt bikes are built to fall down, so at most you may have to buy a lever or two. And they're a great way to hone more advanced riding skills. That's one reason almost all the AMA pro riders train on XR100s in the off season. ---- jzh3@xxxxxx wrote: ============= I hate to say the exception proves the rule (because it's a bloody silly argument), but... RE: Got the bike! First ride! / XRLS Ng........
Sound advice. Dirt bike training is also one half day of the 3 day Freddie
Spencer HP Riding School www.fastfreddie.com schedule for all of the same reasons. Plus it's so much fun.
