RE: Subject: NVFR Re: Jeremy McWilliams racing Daytona andHondahissy fit
One more time. You cannot draw a parallel to bikes which are allowed oil/water cooling. The twins are allowed a displacement advantage to 1350 cc and MUST be air cooled. The problem here is the AMA wording does not address oil cooling. But the argument that is raised is it does not allow "liquid" cooling on that displacement. By allowing the biggest displacement to also use a form of liquid cooling is opening a pandora's box. If this is allowed to stand, then Honda could bore out an RC51, fill it's radiator with oil and Bob's your Uncle. Or we might as well let Ducati bore out to 1350cc and chuck the radiator for a huge oil cooler. Most likely those bikes wouldn't be allowed near the starting line.
This isn't my argument (so I won't argue about it). This is THE argument that is out in the community.
