Pirelli offer/ update

Listers,
I ordered my Pirelli Strada tire From AMT mere minutes after reading of the
free tire promotion on this website. Printed out the claim form, and
forwarded the order reciept I had printed from my computer (with a copy of
the tracking sheet that AMT e-mailed to me after tire was shipped by them),
sending both items to the address listed on the claim form the day after my
tire was recieved.. I waited a week ,& found that they had billed my credit
card for the shipping of my free tire (last night) and an awaiting a e-mail
containing tracking info for the arrival of my free tire. Or. in short, to
the lister who asked, Pirelli did accept my computer generated reciept for
proof of purchase from AMT.
To clarify, if you think you may have ordered the wrong sized tire from AMT,
I'd call their # (800-949-1794 ) and clarify the order, before wrong or
questionable size was shipped to me. This was my first purchase from AMT, &
i was impressed with their fast service
(and low prices) Hope this helps...Joebiker996.

Re: Pirelli offer/ update

I just received notification via the Pirelli Claim Status website that my tire has been shipped:

Shipped -- The actual ship date of your free tire was Mar 14, 2006.
Your UPS tracking number is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

(It should be noted that I was billed on Mar 9, 2006. So I'd expect others who were billed prior to that to also be showing a "shipped" update, as they are most likely doing a bulk ship to reduce the amount of time spent.)

Re: Pirelli offer/ update

Well, they kind of screwed that up also.
I had checked their website just yesterday, and it had no new info.
Checked now, and it had same info that you posted. Checked UPS
tracking, and it was received today at the dealer that I intended to
have mount it. According to UPS, it was actually shipped March 10.
With a little notice, I could have had rim at dealer today to mount.
Their claim form said "...your tire will then be shipped, and you will
receive a tracking number via email within 3 business days..."
Let's hope that they are better at making tires than running promotions
or creating webpages.
But, a front tire for $25 (plus mounting) with a few hoops, I'll take
it and stop complaining.

Spoke too soon. That tracking # was from PowerSports.com where I ordered
some gear.
Still awaiting Pirelli's info.

Re: Pirelli offer/ update

Hi, all,
Just thought you might like to know. The lowest price on 180/55ZR17 that I was able to find was at sporttour.com for $111.95. The shipping is $9.95, for a total of $121.90.
If you want to go with a better known dealer (although I've never bought anything from sporttour.com, I'm sure they are integrous if you decide to go with them), denniskirk.com ([800] 969-7501) will beat any competitor's total shipped price (including all costs) by a whopping $1. If you go with denniskirk.com, and your total purchase is over $250, you can request a 90-day no payment, no interest option. However to opt for this (this is a bit more complicated), you have to order online (at the significantly higher denniskirk.com price), choose this option, and then send an e-mail detailing the competitor's information for the difference to removed from the credited (debited from the credit) purchase price. If the total purchase price is less than $250, this option is not available, and you may as well order via phone.
An article on the Stradas from motorcycledaily.com follows (I've been using D208s, and have never used the Stradas before, but various reviews (including this one), and the promotion are inducing me to try them out):
http://www.motorcycledaily.com/07oct...lli_strada.htm
good luck.
