NVC, SPAM: $50 VFR discount at New MSF school in Boston
Please excuse the use of bandwidth. Hopefully, I used the NVC label correctly so that people wishing to exclude non VFR content could avoid this message.
I have been a long time VFR list member / lurker / occasional contributor and I am an MSF RiderCoach. If you know anyone looking for MSF rider training in the Boston area, please refer them to my school: www.StreetwiseCycleSchool.com I just established the school which is located minutes from Blue Hills on the Boston / Milton, MA line. I missed the deadline for the RMV publications, so I am trying to get enrollment up. Please pass the word that anyone referred by a VFR list member can register for the weekend Basic RiderCourse at the "under age 25" rate of $225. So, no matter how old they are, they can click on the "under age 21" "buy now" button and pay just $225, not $275. Just have them write "VFR" in the notes section of the online registration form. This is a troubling post. Following the story in MCN over the past year or so has exposed how what once was an organization working for the good of the sport has 'morphed' into something totally different (cash driven??).
Having rode & worked with MSF instructors over the past 12 years, I am not alone in expressing concern over a course that was made available at nominal $$$ being inflated to the levels mentioned. Between this and the 'juveniles' running around with the loud pipes drawing attention causing impending legislation that will effect all, whats next.....airbags on bikes (oh wait, thats here also)!
