Triple clamp spam ....was... VFR front end replacement

Speaking of front end modifications, I have a modified set of Honda
triple clamps that were on my 99VFR when I bought it. They were
originally from a Honda with 43 mm forks (not sure which one) and have
custom spacer shims to allow them to clamp the stock 41mm forks on the
VFR. They have less offset than the stock clamps and make the steering
quicker/lighter. They use the stock VFR bearings on the steering stem
and the stock VFR stem nuts. The steering stop on the lower clamp was
milled to fit the VFR frame. The stock VFR forks and wheel spacers fit
into this set up with no mods. This set up also includes a shorter rear
dogbone link for the suspension to gain ride height. The prior owner
spent a lot of time and money getting this setup built and I think he
had it dialed in by GMD Computrack in Atlanta. I use the bike for sport
touring and preferred the stock parts and handling to the quicker feel
provided by this modified triple/dogbone link set up. Kent at GMD said
that the triple clamp with shims and the dogbone link were probably
worth about $150, but I need to clear out the garage and I figure the
market for these parts is limited, so I am offering them to the list for
$125 plus shipping.

Correction, I think they were originally from a Honda with 45mm forks,
not 43mm. In any case, the custom machined aluminum shims (4) make a
perfect fit for the 41mm VFR forks.
