SPAM: '94 VFR 750 for sale in NH

Hi all,

Sorry for the shameless plug, but I figure I am doing someone a good service if that person is seeking out a great VFR750. Below is the description from my ebay auction that can be found at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT . (or search item # 4634960103)

Thanks for taking a look.

It is with much regret that put my beloved 1994 Honda VFR up for auction, but times change and other obligations sometimes take precedence. That said, please take a moment to look over this description and pictures of this great motorcycle. I'll assume that if you are in the market for a VFR, you already know what a fantastic motorcycle it is. If not, there are countless websites with excellent VFR info.

I purchased this bike last October with just under 19,000 miles on it. I bought it from a friend who kept it stored in his barn. He had lost interest in riding it after it accidentally fell over in the barn. The bike sat unridden for a couple years until I convinced him to sell it to me. I immediately went to work on refreshing the bike after its two-year slumber. Fortunately, it had a major service just before the fall over, so everything is in fantastic running condition. When I got the bike home, I drained the fuel and refilled with fresh gas. I ran some Gumout Carb Cleaner through it for good measure. After installing a new battery, it started up and ran great! Having owned VFRs before, I can definitely say this one is a runner. It's very strong. The handling is superb and everything feels very straight and solid. I've ridden bikes before that "weren't quite right". You can just tell when something is off. Everything about this bike is definitely on.

The overall condition of the bike is very good. It is mechanically excellent. The regulator/rectifier (the Achille's heel of the VFR) was replaced within the last few thousand miles. The overall look of the bike is very good, as well. There are cosmetic issues that may or may not bother you. They did not really bother me, except maybe the upper left cowl. This bike has NEVER been laid down in a crash. All cosmetic damage was from the unlucky fall over in my friend's barn. The two most expensive pieces of plastic, the side cowls are in fantastic shape. They really polish up well and have no scratches. The factory pipe was looking sort of dull, so I put several hours into polishing it. Now, it looks amazing. It has an aftermarket look, without any neighbor-annoying volume. Stock sound - aftermarket look. The rear seat cowl had a crack in it, so I bought one on ebay. I was amazed at the excellent condition of the new one. I don't believe it had ever been on a bike before this one. It looks great!

As I mentioned, the bike did fall over in my friend's barn. Naturally, that incident caused some cosmetic damage. I have tried very hard to show everything in the many pictures included with this auction. Here's a list of the basics of what happen in the fall over.

a.. Upper left cowl cracked and missing small amount of plastic
b.. Upper right cowl cracked by mirror mount, but complete. Repaired due to minor nature of damage
c.. Upper right cowl has minor scratching in almost invisible area. Shown in pics, but hardly worth repairing or replacing.
d.. Gauge face cover cracked, BRAND NEW one included with bike (paid $130)
e.. Small scratches on right rear cowl next to frame. Some small scratching extended to frame as well. Shown in pics.
f.. Small repaired crack in rear center cowl over tail light. Also small corner broken off top rear center. Both shown well in pics.
g.. Fuel tank has minor dent on right side that isn't very noticable. It shows in pics.
h.. Also, in the upper left cowl, I drilled a hole for a 12V weatherproof accessory plug (for GPS). I was actually working on the project when I decided I had to sell the bike, The hole remains and you are welcome to have all the parts I acquired for the 12V plug installation. This hole is in a part that should probably be replaced, anyway.
The cost to replace the left upper cowl is about $325 for a brand new one from Dynamo Humm in Canada (www.dynamohumm.com). (the exchange rate will vary that price) I only felt the left upper needed replacing, as the cracks in the right upper aren't that noticable.

I purchased a new gauge face plate for $130 to replace the cracked one, but didn't get it installed yet. It is included with the bike. An older motorcycle cover is also included.

When I bought the bike, it needed new tires so I purchased a new set of Michelin Pilot Road tires in the stock sizes. I had the rear mounted and balanced over the winter because I could just take the wheel to the shop. I didn't get the front installed yet. It is included with the bike. The rear has less that 400 miles on it. I love the rear and was looking forward to getting the front mounted. The grip is great and the tread pattern is very cool, too.

Although this bike is not perfect, I definitely feel it's a bike to be proud of. It's very fast, very comfortable and handles great. I'm certainly sorry to see it go, but current life circumstances demand it. I assure you I am not selling this bike because I am unhappy with it. It makes me very happy everytime I throw a leg over it.

Thanks for taking the time to look over this description and the pictures. I have tried hard to capture all the good and the less-than-perfect aspects. Please don't be mislead by my desire to show all that is wrong with this bike. I just don't want you to have any surprises. Believe me, there is far more good than bad. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. If you need more detail of a particular area, I can send additional photos. I hold a clear New Hampshire title and the bike is currently registered. We are located in Strafford, NH which is only a little over an hour north of Boston (less, if you're on the VFR). We're very centrally located between Portsmouth, NH (I-95) and Concord, NH (I-93). A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of close of auction (PayPal will be accepted for deposit) The balance is due in cash within seven days of auction close. Pickup or shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. No warranty is expressed or implied.

Although I would recommend riding this baby home after you buy it, I understand you may want to consider trailering if you live a great distance away. I do have a motorcycle trailer that will accommodate this bike nicely (I used it myself when I bought the bike). I would sell the trailer for $450 in addition to the bike purchase price. If interested in this option, please email me for pictures of the trailer. Thanks!
