Suspension setup - Newbie

...."Are 2002+ VFR suspensions adjustable for rebound
and/or compression damping? That adds a whole other
can o'worms to the mix :-)...."

The rear has adjustment for Spring Pre-Load and also adjustment for Rebound
Damping. The front has Spring Pre-Load only.

Les.

I think I am in Trouble...

We just sold my wife's Buell Blast and I noticed my wife eying my
VFR. Her other bike is a HD Sportster, which she loves, but she
wants to replace the Blast with a sports bike. Test rode a Ninja
650R and liked it, so that may be her next bike because it is a bit
lower and lighter than the VFR...but...

Last evening, after coming back from a long two up ride on the Road
Glide, she was looking at the VFR again. I asked if she wanted to
take it out for a ride. Up until that point she had always said no,
as she is completely intimidated by it and on her tippy toes at a
stop. She said, twist my arm!

Backed it out of the garage and warmed it up for her, checked tires,
etc. She tippy-toed out of the driveway and down the road and out
of sight. I sat down on the porch for a minute to try to relax.
Went into the garage and got a beer. Trying to remain calm.

One beer later she had not returned. Hmmm. Trying to balance
freedom and concern. Got in the van and went to look. Figured she
dropped it in some spring gravel that tends to collect at
intersections around here. Nothing. Back the other way. Nothing.
Oh wait, here comes a bright red..WWAAAAaaaaaaaaa there she goes.
Huge grin. Shit! Feel like a fool for doubting her, but had no
idea she would keep it out so long and then keep going! Back to the
house.

She pulls in, tippy-toes it back into the garage and pulls the helmet
off. Hair toss, "wow honey, that is really cool! Really rips after
6 thou." Oh Geez!

Called me from home this morning. I had just gotten to work. "Hey
sweetie, mind if I ride the VFR to work today?"

I suppose this isn't that bad a problem to have...

VF500F tank - free (NVFRC)

Still trying to clean house, I have a pretty but slightly dented VF500F
Babyceptor tank that needs to go. If no one wants it, the trash man gets
next dibs. Anyone who wants it only needs to pay shipping costs, or come
pick it up in Houston.

Contact me OFF-LIST if you are interested. I will send you photos and work
out details if you want it.

Mike in Houston

(To be fair to everyone, including those actually WORKING and not monitoring
the VFR list right now, I will put names in a hat if 2 or more want it, and
draw one at random. So speed in responding isn't necessary, as long as you
respond by this time tomorrow. )
