Ode to an old biker
Randy -
Thank you, both for taking the time to memorialize your dad in such a fine way and for your consideration in sharing that with us. Your description of him was vivid and touching. Sounds like a great guy. I'm sure he's proud of you. My deepest sympaties for your loss. The tip about the Montezuma's revenge thing causing stomach cancer is worth saving, too. Yes, my Dad was a great guy, and much like another Fred - Burma Wolf - he was very well liked. I thought that most riders on the list would appreciate a father-son riding relationship. That ride in 2004 was the first time he and I rode together on seperate bikes, and our last ride together. It was the culmination of a dream to ride with him in '04. He was the best father a person could ask for. For those of you who still have a father or son who share the sport - ride together at every opportunity, life is short, and these are the moments you will cherish your entire life. Be safe!
