96 "open" vacuum line q
Hi, on my 96, there's a little metal "nipple" pulling
a vacuum, where the boot attaches to the cylinder head. It's open to the air--anyone know what that is, and is it supposed to be open to the atmosphere? The rpms increase when i cover it with my finger. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1996 VFR750F 1991 Prelude Si 2006 Flying Ford Anglia __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I haven't posted to the list in a long long time and have not had a bike in
even longer but I'll take shot at this one... I think those ports are for synching the carbs up. When in normal use they should be covered with a rubber boot. Hey, when in doubt, do what makes the RPM's go up! lol :) Chris B. ----- Original Message ----- From: "kurrremkarmerruk" To: "VFR List" Sent: Monday, May 15, 2006 8:13 PM Subject: 96 "open" vacuum line q > Hi, on my 96, there's a little metal "nipple" pulling > a vacuum, where the boot attaches to the cylinder > head. +1. Those are the synch ports and should have a rubber vacuum cap on them.
If one is missing, check the others; should be one on each carb base.
