Engine Number - 1998 VFR800

Sorry to bug the list and waste bandwidth, but I went to California DMV today only to find that they need to verify an emissions tag (which I found under the seat), frame number (which I found on the steering column), and an engine number (which I can't seem to find). I have a service manual, but not in my possession at the moment. If anyone has a copy of the service manual, can you scan the page with the engine number location (preferably a picture of the location) and email it to me? You can keep it off-list unless you think others might benefit from it. Thanks.Roger B. RE: Engine Number - 1998 VFR800

Thanks to a quick response from another lister, I have a picture of the location. I guess the engraved stamp on my bike is just dirty and must have been hard to see. For all interested (and per the service manual), "The engine serial number is stamped on the lower left side of the cylinder block." The picture shows looking from the left side of the bike between the rear cowl and the chain guard, just in front of the shock.

Thanks again,Roger B. Chase Sr.AMA: 677639HRCA: HRC 300007192http://www.frappr.com/?a=myfrappr&id=140884 Formerly Littleton, CO, Now Huntington Beach, CA1998 Honda VFR800FiChatrboxCB_VFR.@xxxxxx(Just take the excess periods outand you got my email address!)
