RE: In dire need for a gasket and a bolt.. any help?

Frightening. Every time I do something or have an issue with my VFR I turn around and there's
someone with exactly the same thing!

I just did the EXACT SAME THING on my '95! including the one bad bolt!
This is a month or so after I went through the beginning of this problem with fellow lister, Kris Linquist.

Michael, there must be someone in your area who can cut you one. It's a cinch, they just look up the CAD
for the right part and presto. (it helps if the operator pays close attention to what he's doing!, but you could
clean up any rough edges yerself)

That baked-on gasket crap is a pain, huh?
Did you re-wire as well?

Showing good voltage at the battery, finally!,
-Joseph

Hey guys... Pretty straight forward:

5th gen..'99 VFR800FI...
Replaced the stator, but failed to order the leftside crankcase/alternator cover gasket at the same time. I went ahead and prepped everything, replaced the stator inside the cover, cleaned all old baked on gasket material off, etc etc in getting ready to just slip on a new gasket and bolt everything back up...
PROBLEM: No gaskets ANYWHERE!!! Seem to be on backorder. Cost is approximately $10-11 for the gasket. I also need one stator bolt that was slowly stripped out upon removal..whoops..

Solution: Ordered one from newenough.com (AZmotorsports) but have now found out they are on backorder. Could be weeks before I see this simple gasket. Having problems with servicehonda site for some reason. But, I am assuming there is SOME dealership that has this gasket and protentially the bolt in stock. The bolt is dealable... I am sure I can come across that... only problem is the size of the head...

Any help? Any dealerships with this part? Any ideas?

Part #'s:
gasket: 11636-MBG-000
bolt : 90085-MW4-000

RVT sealant is your friend. I believe black is what you are looking
for. Just do a thin coat. Let it setup some and then install. No
need to buy the paper gasket

Re: In dire need for a gasket and a bolt.. any help?

Gasket is easy, just to to NAPA and buy a sheet of gasket material
and cut your own. It'll cost you about $5. Just make sure you have
plenty of fresh X-acto blades available. All the curves need
precision and the material dulls blades very quickly.

Can't help with the bolt.
