RE: 95 VFR no lights
Check the hi-beam switch.
-----Original Message----- From: vfr-bounces@xxxxxx [mailto:vfr-bounces@xxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ed Ostack Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2006 3:00 PM To: vfr@xxxxxx Subject: 95 VFR no lights I have no lights period!. No low beam....no high beam. The 20 amp headlamp fuse in the fuse block is good( positively checked). The leadlamp bulb on the right side measures continuity, telling me that bulb is good, at least on that side. The lights were working when it received a safety inspection a couple of weeks ago, both high and low beams. Now nothing. I suspect there has been a loss of supply voltage to both the relays...if I had to guess. Since I am very new to the VFR I need some experienced direction. My manual says I have to dismantle and remove the upper fairing to access the Headlamp relays. I hope there is an easier way to tell me if the relays are getting their supplied voltage. I hesitate to think they both went bad at once. Maybe a connector loose somewhere in the wiring harness? I added Heli bars so the wiring harness has been put in more tension that as stock. I have removed the front side panels ( lowers). Nothing to report loose. Anybody? I am assuming since one bulb is good, the other has a chance as well of being good. When I turn on the key and switch to high beam, there is NO CLICK! NADA CLICKOLA! HELP! Tell me I dont have to remove my upper fairing. RE: 95 VFR no lights
Bingo.
You let us know what the last thing was that you changed (different clipons), therefore the problem surely lies in that area. Be sure and check the wiring and the plug on that bar end switch assembly as well.
