OT: Drill Press end of the story.
Thanks to everyone who offered information and advice. I didn't really expect
to have an ending to this story so quick. It was clear right away that I was going to end up with a chinese drill press unless I was willing to spend enough money to buy another motorcycle. I wasn't and am still not willing to do that. I went out shopping today. I checked the local sources. There isn't much around there. One decent lumber yard with Delta products at more $$ than anyone else. Lowes has no floor model drill presses. Home despot had one floor model drill press, It was their Rigid that I had seen before. It was on sale for $279. I decided to think a bit more. On my way home, I passed the local hotel and convention center. There was a sign in the parking lot saying "Tool Sale Today". I decided to stop and look. I had seen these guys from time to time and their stuff is just so so. Maybe a good deal and maybe junk. They had two drill presses. One was a Rigid that was the same model that home despot had. It was priced at $229. The other one was not nearly as good looking. While I was looking around at their stuff, one of the guys heard me say drill press. He started talking about how they had too many of these Rigid drill presses and they needed to get some of them out of their truck to make room. He started with a few bucks off and no tax. I didn't say anything. Before he was done talking, the deal was $199.99 out the door. That did it. But there is one small problem. I also found a small milling machine. Now I am think about that. Thanks again to all for the help.
