Transmission repair

I'm finally getting around to repairing the transmission on my '95. I've
been put it off, but the transmission in the motor currently in the bike is
acting up more than this one was when I decided to swap motors. It actually
got worse after installing the Factory shift kit. I was ready to split the
cases, but after removing the entire clutch assembly I realized that
wouldn't be necesary. I have yet to find any defects with the gears. It
looks as if worn shift forks are the problem. Looking up the part numbers I
found there are two different part numbers for the right shift fork. Does
anybody know of any difference besides the price? The part numbers are
24211-ML7-000 and 24211-MZ5-000

RE: Transmission repair

According to Ronayers.com the first part number 24211-ML7-000 fits these
models:

Honda 1994 RC45 RVF750R GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1990,1991,1992,1993,1994,1995,1996,1997 VFR750F GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1990 RC30 VFR750R GEARSHIFT_DRUM

And the second part number 24211-MZ5-000 fits these models:

Bike Frame
Honda 1994 MAGNA VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1995 MAGNA VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1996 MAGNA VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1997 MAGNA VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1998 MAGNA 750C VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1999 MAGNA 750C VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 2000 MAGNA 750C VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 2001 MAGNA 750C VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 2002 MAGNA 750C VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 2003 MAGNA VF750C GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1997 MAGNA DELUXE VF750C2 GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1998 MAGNA DELUXE VF750C2 GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1999 MAGNA DELUXE VF750C2 GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 2000 MAGNA DELUXE VF750C2 GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1995 MAGNA DELUXE VF750CD GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1996 MAGNA DELUXE VF750CD GEARSHIFT_DRUM
Honda 1990,1991,1992,1993,1994,1995,1996,1997 VFR750F GEARSHIFT_DRUM

24211-MZ5-000 apparently also fits NON North-American Shadow 750s (according
to bike-parts.fr)

As you can see, they are both listed for the '90-'97 VFRs, so either would
work, AFAICT.

The ML7 and MZ5 references are the Parts Classification Numbers.

ML7 = VFR

MZ5 = Magna

Parts Classification Number
(These numbers relate to the Product Code of the first Honda motorcycle
model to use a particular part; if the same part is subsequently used on
another model, the Parts Classification Number generally remains unchanged)

I personally would order the ML7 variant as it is explicitly the VFR piece
according to the PCN.
