General Questions
I just wanted to ping the list and ask a few questions.
First, are there any lister's in my area. I'm in Richmond, VA. Just trying to line up someone to ride with a little this spring. Second, have the 07 VFR's hit the showrooms yet? While I'd love to have the 07 with the retro paint scheme, I'm still riding my old faithful, 91 VFR 750... Lastly, can anyone tell me what's going on with Dynamohumm? I've tried to access the website a few times and didn't have much luck. Unfortunately, i don't have the phone # either. http://www3.sympatico.ca/dyno/dynamo.htm Is there an alternate web address? Lastly, my condolences to the friends and family of Alan Wilson..... Herb --------------------------------- Have a burning question? Go to Yahoo! Richmond VA , my home town! Ahhhh....the mEmories.....the roads.... Dynamohum no longer sells OEM plastic, if that's what you're looking for. New owners apparently. Lame customer service. Rarely answer their email, I've found. No '07's yet here in Los Angeles area that I've seen. I used to work @ a Honda dealership in sales. While I was there not a single VFR was sold. My friends still there say they may get one of the new ones, but only if it's ordered first, so they doubt they'll see any. As we all know, not a big seller. I doubt the paint scheme will change that. Too many faster/flashier/mag articles about everything else, so something's gotta lose. Honda House on West Broad may get one or two though. Or Cliff's, if you're in the Fan area. -greginLA ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. They merged with Picotte performance some years ago. Are they still under the Picotte banner? later, Johnj _______________________________________________ vfr mailing list vfr@xxxxxx For subscription and delivery options: https://lists.cs.wisc.edu/mailman/listinfo/vfr |

LVFRC, but Funny (and Important) Nonetheless
I don't know if any of you are following the battle between MSF and Oregon,
but if you read Motorcycle Consumer News (MCN), you may be familiar with a journalist who writes for them, Wendy Moon (she writes the Bulletins, among other items). She also authors a blog, and always has interesting news and insight about MSF and the training environment around the country. Yesterday's blog contained a listing of phrases and ideas MSF claims to "own," accusing Oregon of infringing on MSF's intellectual property rights. You can find most of the history of the whole MSF/Oregon debacle on her site as well, if you've got hours-and-hours to spend reading (honestly, I don't know how she finds the time to research and write all she does). I occasionally chat with Ms. Moon on IM, and today's blog has a few choice quotes we came up with yesterday to replace verbiage MSF insists nobody else should use: Considering the PMS going around and the relative quiet on the list these days (no oil or gun threads, though the recent tire debate makes me feel right at home), I thought us propeller-heads might appreciate the laughs... FWIW - I'm an MSF-trained rider, having taken both BRC and ERC courses two times each (with plans to re-take ERC (now v2?) again in the future). I'm not attempting to bash MSF - I'm far too ignorant of the whole situation to take sides one way or another. However, it does seem to me, based on what I read in the blog and what I read recently in MCN (most recent issue), that MSF is using strong-arm tactics to ensure a monopoly when it comes to training and license-waivers. If anyone knows of any blogs taking the opposite view of Ms. Moon's, I'd be happy to read those, as well. VFRC - Ms. Moon rides a VFR; there's a pic on one of her recent entries. :) --Ari (aka PCAri75) '02 - Chicago _______________________________________________ vfr mailing list vfr@xxxxxx For subscription and delivery options: https://lists.cs.wisc.edu/mailman/listinfo/vfr |

Re: General Questions
Greg,
thanks for the info on Dynamo Humm. Funny, I was thinking about them for just to opposite reason you mentioned. I was reading the post by a lister who was asking about replacing his plastic with a non-oem version (pyramid i think) because he damaged his current plastic during a lowside. It reminded me that i have a complete set of plastic for my VFR that i purchased from Dynamo Humm a few years ago sitting in my basement. I never used it and it's still in the box. Brian Law mentioned that he could use it and would probably be interested in buying it back from me. So now i want to see if he still wants it and I was trying to find out how to get in touch with him. Years ago he used to be a list regular, hopefully he still is and he'll read this and reply. John J....thanks for the lead on Picotte performance. Herb. I just wanted to ping the list and ask a few?questions. > ? > First, are there any?lister's in my area.?? I'm in Richmond, VA.?
