WTB: Givi luggage
Anyone wanting to part with GIVI luggage for a 5th Gen? If so, contact me off list. If not, tips on where to purchase new at the best price would be appreciated.
I am considering taking a long trip this summer and some good luggage would make the trip easier. I have been using a Kayak floatation bag which is good for 4-5 days, is extremely cheap, waterproof, etc. but does not carry enough for a 30 day 7,000 - 8,000 mile trip. Alternative recommendations awa experience from those with the large side and top Givi bags would be appreciated. I am particularly interested in knowing if the large side bags adversely affect handling, etc. Vic --------------------------------- We won't tell. I always trip with two Givi 36 liter side cases and either a 46 or 52 litre top case, always fully loaded (overloaded actually) The only possible adverse effect is a tendancy to wheelie on hard acceleration (I don't really consider that an adverse effect) As far as cornering our high speed cruising, no problems. On tip on the Givi WingRack: if you want to put more than 1o lbs in each case you should have the spot weld on the mounting flanges re-inforced at welding shop. Just have then put a real weld bead on each side where the tube joins the flange. If/when the time comes to actually do this, hit me up for some pictures to illustrate what I mean. Wear only clothing that can be washed in the sink and hung to dry overnight. Most wicking shirts and underwear fall into this category. I travel with 2 pair of underwear and 3 t-shirts. Could go a long time this way. Wash it out at night, it's dry in the morning. And off we go.
