Tire pressure (Was Avon Storms)
Bryan, I do NOT think the ambient temp changes that occur during the day has anything to do with what pressure you should set your tires to when cold. Their rolling temp is so much higher than what is going on with the weather, I think you should set them at the recommended pressure cold, regardless of the ambient temp changes that occur during the day. I have never heard of anyone adjusting their cold setting around the changes they anticipate during the day nor have I ever done so. I may be wrong but let's see what the rest of the list have to say on this.

multiple times during the day unless there's a 20+ degree shift in temps -- if you're riding your VFR or other bike on the track, a big ambient temp change can throw your track pressures way off. Vic
Well I last spring I set my pressure in the AM to the proper setting (cold, as bike sat overnight) and then checked it when I left the office at ~5:30pm, 9hrs of down time. The difference in pressure was significant enough for me to notice and if memory serves (it doesn't always either) it was the front that showed the most change. The only problem I see is that ambient temp is what you set your pressure against, regardless of day/hour/month. The only spec I ever see is that the tire is "cold". So what makes AM any better or worse than PM? Both of those temps are valid as the tire was cold. I feel a new Tire Pressure thread germinating. =)) He he Bryan One great wife (Life is good) 96'VFR750 (Life is better) 86'VF500 (live long and prosper) Lyme Vol. Fire ----- Original Message ---- From: "vic5491@xxxxxx" Bryan, I do NOT think the ambient temp changes that occur during the day has anything to do with what pressure you should set your tires to when cold. That's the point of my discussion, my AM temps are high 20s to low 30s and my PM temps are in the high 50s and low 60s. Common for up here in NH anyhow.
