Targa Craziness - Stupid Parts
Well I ordered a half leather tank bra for my 97. About 6 days later I
get a box and waited to open it on the week end. When I opened it, it was some other stupid parts, like a light up valve stem. I'm like..."Huh"?. So I call Targa and they said right away that the other person, who got my tank bra, just called, and they are sorry, but they made a mistake and crossed up the shipping labels. They said they would send me the tank bra and gave me some numbers and said to use the numbers to return the package with the wrong parts. Sounded good to me. I get to UPS and they say "$6.99, Please". I'm like...Huh? They said this wasn't an account number, just an RMA number. So I call Targa and ask them what I am supposed to do? They said that "I" am supposed to pay for the return shipping when the wrong parts are ordered. I said I did NOT order these parts. YOU made a shipping mistake. They said, "Well, this is our policy, anyway". I said you expect me to pay to return parts that you shipped wrong? She said yes. Never in my life????? I ain't gonna do it! To heck if I will! I know it's just $7.00. That is not the point. I guess I have some stupid parts now? May as well try and use them. I don't care WHAT they do, I am NOT paying to ship the parts back. That's so California. Now the companies who screw up, THEY are the "victims". Damned customers are always expecting too much! Targa is OUT. Simply escalate the call to a manager. If they really want their parts
back, they will pay the shipping. Or tell them to arrange a pickup. doug -----Original Message----- From: vfr-bounces@xxxxxx [mailto:vfr-bounces@xxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kirk Sent: May 16, 2007 4:17 PM To: Vfr@xxxxxx Wisc. RE: Targa Craziness - Stupid Parts
Agreed. If that gets you nowhere, tell them you are going to call your
credit card company and dispute the charge. (You DID use a CC, didn't you?). The credit card company will charge back Targa and investigate before making a final disposition. Keep a record of your calls. Has worked for me in the past. But my guess is that it won't go that far. Targa has too much to lose here. Good luck, Marc -----Original Message----- Simply escalate the call to a manager. If they really want their parts back, they will pay the shipping. Re: Targa Craziness - Stupid Parts
If I am not mistaken, legally you are not responsible for shipping anything
back. If they sent you something you didn¹t order and they refuse to make arrangements to get the merchandise back then it¹s yours. Call your state Department of Consumer Protection and get their take on the situation. If Targa gives you grief, tell them what the DCP advises. Ask for a manager, stick to your guns. Call your credit card company, let them know the situation and authorize only the part you ordered. Tom On 5/16/07 3:16 PM, "Kirk" > Well I ordered a half leather tank bra for my 97. "That's so California"
Huh? Maybe the California sun has bried my frain, but I don't get it. Gotta tell ya Kirk, I was in Texas this past weekend, flew into DFW, saw the Rangers, drove down to Houston, saw the Astros. Had a blast. But the humidity was a killer, not as bad as Florida, but I wouldn't want to be there in July or August. Good luck, I have a feeling Targa will set things right. I ordered a set of Avons from their website, AFTER I called and got a confirmation on the phone that there were multiple sets in their distributors warehouse. Five days later the order pops from processing, to back-ordered. So at the end of useless call to a useless rep, I said I wanted to cancel my order. They passed me to some Returns agent who agrees to cancel my order, but with a 25% restock fee. I screamed for her manager and proceeded to press my case with her boss. In the end (40 minutes later) I get the credit for the full amount back on my card. I called another source and had the tires the next day (for ground shipping). That was the last time I will ever deal with AZMotorsports (what ever they want to call themselves now). Just out of curiosity, how do they "set things right" at this point. They have admitted that they broke it and they expect their customer, who had no part in breaking it to pay to fix it, right? It seems pretty clear to me that they have shown their true colors. What am I missing here? -- Jerry Excellence is achievable. Perfection is much more elusive. _______________________________________________ vfr mailing list vfr@xxxxxx For subscription and delivery options: https://lists.cs.wisc.edu/mailman/listinfo/vfr |

Re: Targa Craziness - Stupid Parts
Temecula to Irvine.
3 different routes are available: Ortega Hiway - 60.5 miles Toll Roads - 63.5 miles 91 to 55 - 70 miles It all depends on the time of day, traffic conditions and how much of a hurry I'm in. Still plenty of smiles left in the bike though. It still amazes me how smooth the bike is at freeway speeds.
