> Hey anybody else need galfer pads, rotors or lines??? I dunno if I'd use Galfer lines again. I put their SS lines on my 91 back in about 97. Shortly thereafter I moved and life conspired against me riding for several years. Shortly after I returned to riding, one of the lines failed. While they were probably 7 years old at the time, they could not have had more than 5000 miles of use on them. The bike was always stored in a garage that kept moderate temperatures throughout the year. The much older OEM rear line is fine. The leak occurred at the line/fitting junction, so I do not think the line itself was to blame - but rather Galfer's manufacturing of the whole part (line + fittings). Just one data point. FWIW,
I just replaced my stock OEM rotors with Galfer waves, bought them from sumofallparts on e-bay for $551.00 for front pair and $99.00 for rear. Did the Galfer pads ( 62.99 ) and 11 line stainless front ( $ 418.00 ) but not the rear. Prices are cheaper than the group buy price offered by quite a bit. Check it out yourself, click on the buy it now price for the group buy and then check here at e-bay buy it now. Just my .02 worth. A couple of months back I won an auction for several boxed sets of DVD's as a present for my wife (big Buffy fan). It turned out in the end that just about every statement in the auction was false. the DVD's were supposed to still be sealed and new, (they were not, several had lots of fingerprints). They were supposed to be the US market set with collectors edition case with mounted sleeves, (it was a UK box with loose sleeves, fewer disks missing several special features). The auction said the items were here in the US, but they were shipped from Hong Kong. They took nearly 6 weeks to arrive. The Seller never answered my emails, And EBay as well as paypal pretty much ignored my complaints. The final kicker was about two weeks ago, I get a "favorite sellers" message from ebay that show that this prick is selling another set of the DVD's with a complete carbon copy of the last auction. I posted a message to ebay complaining and they had gall to ask me for proof when I had included the original complaint number and copy of it in the message. They have not pulled this guys account nor have they done anything else. Well...to me it was irrelevant, because the cost of labor/time exceeded the cost of the line (even if I had been doing the work myself). IMO, there's no excuse for a "high quality" braided steel line to fail within the expected lifespan a motorcycle. Certainly not in the favorable conditions in which this particular part operated. I realize I'm being a little harsh...but I'll be looking elsewhere next time. A free replacement line would be little consolation if the failure had resulted in wrapping myself around a tree. Fortunately, it only resulted in a near-heart-attack.
