well considering wildstang hasn't created 15 posts about how his engine oil weight is playing into his engine build, or whatever other trash he has planned (or not planned) like binning his VFR bi-weekly.

    I'd say no.

Total non-sequitar, I get paid for labour bi-weekly. Yep, I like using dashes and chit too. Cheers. :loco: Some things need to be binned, aka rubbish...

    my times at MIR

I have only changed the exhaust can and PCIII. I ran 11.07 and will find post the ticket again to show it if you need to see it.
My 60 foot was 1.789. I can do a bit better perhaps after tying the front some more. I just got the straps pulled but need to learn it better.
What mods did you use to gain more power than the PCIII? I will be looking to add more power.
I think the torque on the 5th was a bit different according to a friends comparison.
what mods are available for timing changes?

I dont have the option to add the RapidBike to my 5th gen. Are you familiar with the mod in order to use the 6th gen RapidBike part on my bike? I heard that the wiring will need modification. I would love to add the timing advance. I spoke to Dynojet and to Rapidbike reps and they both indicated that the part will not be available for 1999 bikes.
I have also learned that the tuner guys are in my town. I may be able to do a tune on it soon. But, any helpful info for the timing advance mod would be appreciated.

Yeah I have a rapid bike racing on my sixth gen. Two members on here (mohawk and highsideNZ) have the rapid bike racing on their fifth gens. They are tuning theirs right now for big power builds.

I am in the UK and never heard of any of this crap, not in any of the mags either, you will get 115 120 bhp by spending a fortune and end up with a very top end motor, Why do you want to do this, a standard bike will be better except on pure top end. 150 bhp my arse. 500lb lighter than what? A Busa weighs about 10k more than a VFR800, thats 22lbs. I think the gears must have hit you on the head.

Because its fun! Every bike is the owners blank canvas to do as they please. I get tired of naysayers criticizing other people mods. "So, so bike is faster cheaper without the effort." Why bitch about it? STFU go kill some more stout.

    Opinions

You know I didnt start the thread requestin g opinions. That said I will say this. It is my whether I want mods or not. I am happy with the bike and nature takes its course in people such as myself and improvement will prevail. I DO NOT WANT a damn hyabussa. If I wanted more cc then i will sell this and get bigger bikes. Please refrain from opinions where it is not requested. I was asking how, not should I!
My bike has ran with some higher cc bikes from what i understand. If not then whatever it will do is good, too.
It ran 11.07 in the quarter mile. It will also be more customized to my desire. So, its on me. lol

115-120 bhp does not require a small fortune. The bike is rated at 110 bhp from the factory lol. 5-10 additional horsepower is simple enough, but after that, you will need to start getting creative...

By the way, I am totally aware that you got brake hp confused with wheel HP... ;)

And about the whole "top end motor" I have done literally everything I can do while staying within a limited budget to increase topend horsepower at the expense of lowend. A full race exhaust (the ultra rare two brothers full system), full air box mods (no snorkel or flapper, r6 velocity stacks, racing pipercross air filter), over bore throttle bodies and boots and light head porting. While the topend was greatly improved, surprising, the bike pulls like a freight train from 3000 RPMs. This is due mainly to advancing the ignition timing and getting my curb weight down to 460 pounds. I know that there are faster bikes, but I would rather have decently fast v4 than a fast but generic inline four sport bike.

Ah the mysterious Norcalboy, who refuses to share any info, but somehow feels qualified to pass comment on other efforts.
Well now my knee is better I need to make some more changes to mine, looking for 120whp & 200Kg kerb weight (with reduced fuel load).

Hey if I dropped that much time money and effort into engine work and it didn't produce much because it was still breathing through tiny header primaries/velocity stacks/throttle bodies and being controlled by factory ignition timing and rev limit; I would be pretty bitter too lol

The difference between free thinkers & bullsh!tters, is that some of us actually do this stuff & document it. We that DO have no idea who you are or what your beef is & really don't give a sh!t about you. Just because a magazine says a CBR1K is better, you go buy, then next week they say a Ducati 11xx is better do you go buy ? even if its only by .2sec or 3mph then it's obviously better. Rowlocks, its just sales sh1t so they can print more mags & sell more product from their adds, they don't honestly give a stuff if a bike is good or bad or better or worse.

On my Euro tour last year we have CBR1000RR, S1000RR, Ducati Diaval & a few other biks, none was particularly better or worse at the touring. But all agree that my VFR was the best sounding when Tunnel Surfing :)
What each of us chooses to do to there bikes is up to them. I document everything I've done in the public domain, so others can copy or adopt some of the changes I have made, its up to them. We are NOT here to criticise others that want to adapt their current ride to suit their needs.

I'm a tall chap & 600's are built for midgets & larger bikes are also too heavy or over powered for a good all round bike IMO & that is the only opinion that matters to me ! The VFR has room for ME, it has enough handling for ME but it was a bit short of power & brakes for ME. So I added more power knowing that its engine came from the RC45, so its capable of much more than stock. I changed the braking to both improve it & to suit my preference. I now have a fine handling reasonably powerful (112whp) bike that is also 30Kg lighter than standard.

Total cost including the purchase of the bike is less than £4000 which is cheaper than any decent 1000 you can buy & a much better fit for my needs. Many peoople have harped on at Honda for years as to why they never developed a performance or even more sport oriented V4 ? & Honda's reply was the VFR1200 which is a PoS IMO & again the only one that matters. The new RCV213S is a pipe dream for the super rich & not your average rider.

They may not be interested, but a few of us V4 fans are working together across the world exchanging ideas & improvong the machines that any average owner can afford, so that we may get what we wanted from the big H even if the big H was not listening or interested in us.

You like all others are free to do as you please, but either do some research or shut the fuck up, as we are not interested in bullshitters naymore than you are !

Haha damn mohawk going in hard! :witless:
How is your bike working out with the Rapid Bike tuning?
I just installed the Youtune a few days ago and it is awesome!
I haven't figured out the traction control yet, but everything else is definitely the real deal!
Launch control is awesome! Engine braking control is now adjustable on the fly and is faultless!
Real time Air/fuel readings and now the fuel target is adjustable on the fly as well, Brilliant!
Quick shifter is now fully adjustable too. I am loving this set up.
The air/fuel readings are showing that under heavy loads the air/fuel is pretty rock solid at 13.2, though it does bounce around a little while lightly accelerating. Cruising steady shows a pretty steady 13.2, especially during high speed highway cruising where the tuning data is much more consistent, it's showing rock steady 13.2. It's nice to finally be able to see the fruits of my labor and confirm the Rapid Bike self tuning is working!

On a side note, with now having an air/fuel gauge I can finally see the factory fuel cut, and how the engine brake control works. After putting some seat time in and playing with the settings, I have found that the factory fuel cut operates only in 4th 5th and 6th gears above 4000 rpms on the over run. There is no fuel cut in gears 1 2 and 3. And the engine brake control, totally overrides this! :)
