Just curious as to what pressure you're using when bleeding. Nice setup.

I never go past 15 psi but generally i pump to around 12 psi and even with the bleeder cracked open a good amount, it takes a bit to drop the psi.

So, Went to go re-bleed the front braking system with the new fancy cap and I kept losing pressure. Cap was sealed and I found that the pump unit on the Motive bleeder was leaking again.

Story is, I went to clean the pump a while back and when shaking the remaining brake cleaner off, the pump bottom tube came off and cracked. Why its a two piece friction fit, no damn idea. So 2 part clear epoxy and it worked for half a year but that plastic is super smooth and the epoxy lost grip and probably weakened from brake fluid. I tried using JB steel mixing putty (same stuff used making my bleeder cap) and that doesnt stick to the plastic at all. I even sanded and roughed up the area and it just doesnt seal. Motive doesnt sell replacement parts so I went ahead and took a trip to my Home Depot and got their 1 gallon pesticide sprayer. Took the fitting, gauge and some hose from the motive unit and will be making my own bleeder. These pumps are much sturdier and are not two piece.

Figure I update this again seeing as my lovely 70 dollar brake bleeder broke from a design flaw (well, I feel like it is but perhaps to each their own) so onto bigger and decently better things. Next project is to bleed the truck, and then my friends clutch and brakes on his S60R. That is some nasty, black no good to anything fluid.

Still going to keep the motive brake bleeder and will eventually probably just epoxy putty the pump unit into a single piece design with an O-ring integrated to help seal as much as possible. I love the small container and pump, but eh.

Its still maintenance season (cold and wet ) here, and I am interested in installing speedbleeders.
Goodridge has three different lengths in the 8m size.
    #s; sb8125, sb8125L, sb8125LL
Anyone know what I need for the fifth gen?

    Thanks for your help.

You can get 1 SB8125LL for the PCV that is under of the seat, the rest can be the SB8125L. The difference between the SB8125 and the SB8125L is the length of the nipple. The non 'L' version has a short bleed nipple which can sometimes be a pain to keep the bleed hose from popping off. The 'LL' version is actually longer in a few ways and is needed just for the PCV.

Here you'll see all three and the SB8125L nipple is circled. Just to make sure the longer nipple won't be a problem, take a quick look at the bleeders on your bike and make sure there is clearance. Doing this will make sure there isn't an issue and you'll get to count how many you need. My recollection is 7 for the brakes and clutch and add the 'LL' for the PCV.

I got a kit from them in December. Costs the same. They are nice people and were actually one short on stock, so they called and told me in case I was in a hurry -- I wasn't and they filled the order 3 days later.

These are like magic. I still use a power bleeder, but basically just to fill the lines (I changed to steel) and then to collect the waste fluid. I love how well these things worked for me.

    Thanks for the info.
Looks like the kit from WireMyBike contains 7 of the shorter ones and 1LL.
    Their price is very competitive.
It doesn't appear that you can purchase individual speedbleeders, they are sold in pairs on both flea- bay and Amazon.
So, since I only need one of the longer bleeders, the kit is the best way to go.

    Hey all,
I've just replaced all my standard bleed valves on my '03 (non-ABS) with speedbleeders (and as mentioned, they're amazing and well worth the $7ea.!!), but i can't for the life of me find the bleed valve for the Rear Proportional Control Valve on the right hand side of the bike... Has anyone else had trouble locating this? Do all models have a bleeder on it? The pics in the Honda service manual leave something to be desired with regards to clarity here. Below are photos of what I can see on my bike, any help would be greatly appreciated!

The right hand side bleeder is only for ABS models. There is only one rear PCV bleeder on a non-ABS model.

My 2002 non abs has bleeder on top of rear pcv, as the front pcv on left side. Rear is hell to engage. In addition to taking off rear caliper for bleeding, the also has to be pivoted to point secondary master cylinder down. This and rear pcv bleeding is pictured in service manual
