hey guys and gals. I sold my '06 vfr a few years ago. Hated to, but had no more room in my 2 car garage and was upgrading to a Hyabusa. Wish I could have kept her as she was perfect, but got an awesome price for her. I have since moved to a new house with much more garage and storage space. My "man cave" is about the size of a 2 car garage itself, and houses my tools, my busa, my m109r, my mini bike(!), and now my 2014 viffer! Just pulled the trigger on a '14 red interceptor. Was shooting for the dlx they had, but I absolutely stole this one at $5399... With ZERO fees!!! Just licensing and tax! Best I could get the dlx for was $7300, which is great, but not killer. I plan to pick her up this weekend if I can swing the time. Bought her in Denver, and live in Orlando...road trip! Hope she is as comfy as my '06 was. Pics are of my other two girls, you know what the bone stock red vfr looks like at the dealer! I will post a pic up when I ride her home though. Just wanted to stop by and say howdy! Troy
Welcome and congrats on going back to a Viffer! I have a proposition for you: Hows abouts you arrange I jump flight to Denver, pick up moto, ride it to you, and send me back home. From morning of pick up to delivery is 2 nights, 3 days: guaranteed. I'll take plenty of photos along the way, post and up and text you updates, and hug 'n' cover your moto at every night stop. I don't have to be back to work until August 14th.
Looking forward to the trip and dreading it too! Should catch my flight out early tomorrow. Hope to log at least 600 miles the first day. Thanks for the offer though! I may wish I had taken you up on it by Monday! Troy
Congrats - that's a great deal! I'm also in O-Town and I believe you're only the 3rd 8th gen in the area. When it cools off we should try to get together with VFR Dave for a group ride - he has a white '14 like mine. Enjoy the ride from Colorado to Florida! BTW, there's a white'06 VFR for sale up at Seminole Powersports in Sanford - maybe it's your old bike? Link: http://www.seminolepowersports.com/...6&s=Year&d=D&t=preowned&fr=xPreOwnedInventory
Thanks Greg. Sure, lets ride anytime. That sure looks like my old girl, but I didn't have bags. Was looking for a good deal on a white one, but best I could find was $6300 plus fees. Not worth just the color for me! Troy
Made it! 1881 miles in 30 hours. Back and body feel pretty damn good actually. My ass on the other hand... Best oem saddle I have ever ridden on in all honesty. Made a fresh post in the rides section if anyone is curious how it went. Very happy with this new sexy beast! Troy
What a great way to break in a new bike! I think you set the record for lowest purchase price of a new 8th gen! I'm not really a fan of yellow bikes but I think the Daytona Yellow is by far the best color ever for the 'Busa - it looks freakin awesome in person - they happen to have a barely used one at West Orlando Honda for sale: http://www.westorlandopowersports.c...2&s=Year&d=D&t=preowned&fr=xPreOwnedInventory
Thx Greg! I do love the yellow on the big bus. Was a limited edition color in '13, but a standard in'15. U really never see them much. I paid $10,499 plus tax and licensing for her! I do enjoy a bargain! Troy
Cool is yours the '13 or '15? I knew about the Special Edition for '13 but I didn't realize they brought back the yellow for '15.
Gave her a good bath today. Degreased the chain and mess from Honda's cheap stuff. Adjusted the chain and relubed with the good lube...Dupont Chain Saver. I added red wheel stripes. I am more interested in the reflective properties. Added a tank pad. Installed a RAM steering mount. And changed the oil. That actually went very well. Was reading how tough everyone is having doing it. I just removed the left lower fairing and covered the header with foil. Had to unbolt the lower radiator mount to get the filter out, but that was easy enough. The people that are struggling with this bike should try a 2nd gen Busa! That is a fn pita! Need to buy a pitbull stand next and I am ordering some "GripBuddies." I have large hands and these make the grips a bit thicker and easier on my hands. That should just about do it for his gal. Just thought I would share. Troy
Had time to wax her up today! Grip buddies on and feel just as amazing as on my Busa. Highly recommend them. Best $26 you can spend. Pitbull stand came in. Works great as expected. Soooo much easier to lube the chain now! Installed a battery tender and have a usb to tender cable so I can charge stuff on the fly. You can eaither keep it under the rear seat, or thread the cord around and to the tank or seat depending where your bag is. Cheap and works great. Normally I hard wire a usb near the bars, but probably won't on this one since the seat comes off so easily. Troy
