    Hi Rebeca!
Great to meet you as well! Sounds like you had a great time on the track. Were you down at Autobahn or someplace else? Great photos by the way, looks like you had a great day weather-wise. I'm going to hate to put the bike away when it starts getting colder. Ride safe and keep in touch!

Thanks! And thanks to Jeff Barrett also!

Yes, Mike, I was the Autobahn. I was a bit timid at first with the VFR due to a cold track and an unfamiliarity with how hard I could push the bike, but that went away in time.

I tend to ride until late October or so. When do you put your bike away?

About the same, I don't have any of the fancy electronics to keep me warm so its how much cold I can endure lol. As long as I can get out for even a short ride weather permitting, I'll keep it ready to go. When the salt hits the streets, it gets put away for sure - same with my Miata.

I think you said you swapped out the OEM tires on the VFR - what are you running on it now?

I did. I put my Bridgestone BattleAxes from my S1000RR on them. I don't recall the exact model of Battleaxe but size wise they are 190/55-17s. SO much better with much better confidence at lean angles!

    Good to know - thanks.
I'm not ready for new tires quite yet, but I have a feeling I'll be replacing the OEM tires before they need to be replaced, just to get something a bit stickier. I haven't had any "Oh Shit!" moments on these tires but they're not exactly confidence inspiring. I can only imagine the lack of confidence on the track!

I went 6.5k miles on the OEM tires and finally got tired of them feeling somewhat unstable at higher lean angles. A common complaint I hear about those tires. They will last forever but the firm touring rubber all around doesn't inspire any kind of confidence in the twisties.

    Hi all.

New member here. I’m wondering if I count at this point in time as I haven’t actually ridden a VFR yet lol. I have bought one (06, cosmic black, abs, 34k, Heli bars, lowered pegs), can’t wait to ride it, but still, haven’t ridden it yet. It’s in the garage having a service and the dreaded electrics sorted out as it has a known stator issue. The intention was to share the VFR with hubby for a while until we decide if we like them, but as it’s turned out I am so enthusiastic about it we are looking at a possible second one in a few weeks time (candy red, abs, 07, 24k, Heli bars, no mot, some drop evidence on one front panel) - this will be my bike although my ideal would be a white one.

I’m a bit of a tech head so I’m pretty active on social media and forums etc, so you will see much more of me (like it or not). I found it intersting that most of the comments here so fare are from men lol. Has anybody done an actual count of the women VFR riders?

Anyways... count me in for now. I will be posting after my first ride on ‘Bess’ (named by hubby).

Welcome. There seem to be more women riders than posts would make you think. Ann Marie posts a lot and rides a LOT.

Where lol? Pulling hair out looking for a post of a white VFR in several groups and pages with similar names to VFR800 owners.

Oh wow thank you for posting that it’s a little out of my budget unfortunately at the moment as we are buying two VFR’s I was hoping for a 2006 white - a little cheaper. Perhaps an upgrade next year.

Ever consider that a better bike for you might be a 1988-1990 Honda HAWK NT650 ? Smaller, lighter, easier to handle than any VFR, especially for any smaller rider ? Try one if you ever get the chance. :p

Light, easier to maintain, reliable, great handling, top owners group forum.

All the kick-ass power an adult can sensibly use on city streets, in a narrow V2, maybe 45# lighter than a V4.

VFR for long trips, Hawk for town and freeeway riding.

On any VFR you'll never be able to use more than 1/2 power on the streets, so why carry the extra bulk and inertia ?

:) Hey thanks squirrelman. I already have a Hornet... does the job very nicely. Me an hubby are planning to do a little touring. The ideal is a total of four bikes, two for playing on (and play we do), and a couple for some longer trips. Unfortunately we can't do all four just yet, so the idea is to have a couple of VFR's for a while, and sell one of the Hornets, so one of us always has the choice to jump on a lighter bike. I'm not new to biking - just this forum and VFR's.

I want the heavier bigger bike - I have always had sportsbikes and fancy a little bit of a change :) plus I’m 50 in less than a month, probably best to start acting my age

Hi there. I just bought my 2015 Interceptor few weeks ago. I commute on my bike and so far, it's been great. I'm still struggling with its weight when I park, but I get used to it I guess.
