For the life of me, I just can't understand you. Why in the hell would you have more than one wife? One is more than enough for me.

Didn't mean to make it sound like I had more than one lol. Highly doubt I can trick another into marrying me.

Wife used to ride with me most of the time.. take vacations with our bikes.. just life gets in the way..

I live on 2-wheel way before I met my wife, she knows what she got herself into, and would never let me give it up.
Likewise any of her interest/passion, I wouldn't ask her to give them up.

As in the OP, I need to find something that I enjoy to get exercise and was thinking about a mountain bike again.
I don't know enough about bicycles to tell what kind of deal this is, if at all. At the local flea market guy had couple high end looking bikes, but anything priced high makes me wonder.
This is the only pic I have, sorry, but wondering if anyone can tell approximate age and if fully functional, what it might be worth.

It is high end.. 2002-06 top of the line Shimano XTR drivetrain, Christ King headset, Santa Cruz is a reputable frame manufacturer, FOX suspension, looks like bike is in decent condition that it has not been ridden much off road.. though suspension equipment may need updating in seals.

    How much is seller asking?

Equipment wise, it's a bit much for casual rider just looking to get back into riding, it's a bike for a serious MTB'er who can appreciate the level of performance from top of the line components.

I get that, however I did buy a mtb that was more entry level and quickly hated it because my level would change the bike couldn't handle it. Plus I appreciate quality things and if a deal...

I think he was asking $700 for this one. There is also that voice in my head that looks at the seller and says, "how did you come to have possession of this?"

Did you buy the Santa Cruz for $700?

Typical used market value would be near $1000, in well used condition.. bike in pictured look like it seen minimal usage, very good price at $700.

It's been raining on weekends, I've completed my Chinese carbon bike, but can't get decent weather to head out for a test ride.

I haven't been back there since, though been meaning to. Unless he took $200 or so for it, there's a couple other things ahead of it that I need to use any budget for.

7 AM, I'm taking a nap on the Q train on my way to Brooklyn.
Scumbag black dude walked off the train with my bicycle, 10 other passengers within the train car didn't say a word.
I ran after the prep, grabbed my bike from him and got back on the train before doors closed, didn't have enough time push the intercom button to stop the train & go after the scumbag.
I'll be looking for him for sure.

Put the bike upside down and get the back wheel spinning like mad. Stick that fukkers fingers in the spokes. Problem solved. I hate thieves.. I've had two expensive bikes stolen from me. The police would not be called if I ever caught one of the scroats.

I take the same Q train 2-3 times a week, around the same time of day, always if not most of the time with my bicycle on the train with me.
It's a very stupid thing to do if this scumbag takes the same train regularly, I will be looking for him for sure.

I know there are coiled lines you can buy that attach to keys for Personal watercraft that also attach to your life jackets so that when you get thrown, the key comes out of the ignition and the water craft therefore stops. Is it maybe an idea to get one of those and attach it to your bike and wrist if you have a tendency to fall asleep? Even someone trying to cut it would most likely wake you up. Failing that, hopefully someone would see the fukker cutting the line and step in by waking you up.

    Just a thought.

Thanks for the thought.. I don't think additional security is needed, I strap my bicycle (with a toe strap) against a pole in the subway car during the ride and use a rubber band around the brake lever and handlebar. They mainly they serve as a stability so the bicycle doesn't get tossed around during my subway ride.
I'm not more than arm length. away from my bicycle at anytime during the my commute. IMO the best lock is no lock, just keep the bicycle within constant eyesight.
Even though I was asleep on the train, I hear noise of my strap on the bicycle loosen from the pole, I saw the perp walking on the subway platform with my bicycle, I chased him down, leaving my backpack on the train still, I yelled at him just before reaching for my bicycle; probably scared him to flinch and let go of my bicycle. I had to get back onto the train quickly before the doors close, luckily I was quick enough for all this to occur within 1/2 the length of a subway train car.
I got back onto the train, wasn't close enough to activate the intercom system on the train to stop the train from leaving the station and go after the perp.
I served in Bosnia for 16 months, two tours in Iraq; I was lucky enough to return with all my digits and limbs, quick reaction is something I developed over decades; I may be beyond my prime, but don't count me out even when I'm taking a nap.
