Hi everyone, My name is Novak and I am from Serbia (Europe). I own a 1995 silver VFR750 RC36/2 for a year a half. Hope I'll have many trouble free miles with this bike and a good time sharing our expiriences regarding our VFR's with you.
Welcome Novak. We don't get many from your area so it is good to see. I have never been there but a few friends have been over your way. maybe some day before I leave this earth, I can get over there.
Welcome Novac, it is good to have a Serbian representative as part of our group! Is that your VFR in your avatar? We love to see photos of other member's rides, so post a photo when you get a chance.
Welcome to you! That is some purdy purdy silver! How many kilometers/miles has that moto seen? Enjoy the riding this beautiful motos bring!
Hi there, The odometer says the bike has done "36000km/22500mi", but I haven't got any document to prove that so I am just hoping it will last. The engine runs nice and smooth, no oil consumption at all, original rectifier with fins, machine is very clean with no leaks or stains, brake discs are in very good condition but the bike started suffering with clutch slipping in high revs and starts shivering, when the clutch lever is beign released, at the end.I was planing to take the clutch apart tommorow and see what's happening. I am guessing that the clutch basket probably got toothed from the friction plates so I'll try to smooth it a bit and see what happens. I will take some pictures and post them here, if everything turns out OK, it may be helpfull to someone. Now I'm thinking that if the clutch started making problems, this bike probably has done 50000+mi. The bike fell on the right side at some time in it's life and the tail frame was bent and the side panel cracked when I tightened the bolts after servicing it. So I bought a used one from Hungaru for 60EUR/70USD and it is OK now.All I need to do now is fix the cracked plastic.
Hi Novak, your clutch basket is unlikely to have enough if any wear at 22,5k miles, if the engine is sound and doesn't smoke the mileage is probably genuine, however a strip down and clean will allow you to check it works OK Slipping can be due to many things, stripping it and checking will at least eliminate that end Fine looking machine from the small pic ..... any bigger ones? Good luck with it and I'm sure photos of the work will be appreciated If you go to one of the CBR600 forums they have a trick using baking powder and super glue for repairing plastics, works a treat
Hello and welcome to the nuthouse Novak! Very glad to have you here! Gorgeous silver bullet 4th gen you got there! Make yourself at home and enjoy the site!
Welcome, bro. Please don't get too offended by Squirrelman. He truly is a concerned world citizen and sometimes he can be quite vocal with his opinions. Believe it or not, he really is handy with questions on the older VFRs. We will return you now to our normal motorcycle programming.
Oh, and squirrely man must be drunk, or in dire need of a lady's company. I deleted all offensive and off topic threads.
That's one fine looking machine, hard to believe it's age, somebody has spent a lot of love on the bike .... congratulations Novak on getting hold of it
