Well done Marquez .....but what a boring race

The circuit made very poor TV viewing as opposed to Laguna Seca ...particularly after last weekends BSB at Brands Hatch

Yeah that was one of the most boring races in a while. WSBK Assen was some good racing.

So weird how luck works, Lowes did great with getting pole but suffered in both races, where as MVDM did OK in qualifying but kicked ass in the race. Being on home turf was probably a huge motivator. Sykes sure did a lot better in race 2, hopefully he'll keep the rhythm going, would like to see more people battle with Rae, even if it's his team mate.

MVDM was excellent, he gave Chaz hell and would not give up. Showing a lot of confidence since he got off the Honda. Honda is just not up to par, only multi million dollar GP bikes are competitive. Real bikes they we ride... not so much.

Sheer domination from start to finish - boring to some - but I still enjoyed watching Marquez (who will arguably go down in history as the GOAT) leave everyone in his dust - reminded me of watching Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Mike Tyson back in their prime when NO ONE could stop them (except maybe Buster Douglas :D ).

    Marquez: the greatest ever?

Congrats to Marquez and Honda for winning the Spanish GP - MM is back in the points lead and seems unstoppable! No points for Ducati Team (Dovi or Lorenzo) thanks to Dani :D

Demolition job, literally and figuratively. Awesome.

    Michelin's 400th GP win

Rossi has now raced the equivalent of an around the world lap. That is something.

It was Lorenzos fault, he was too busy looking the other way to see Dani take the racing line, he should have let him go

I agree, JL has been around enough to know that Dani would be there, slamming the door that fast was really dangerous. He knows better than that, but they ruled it a race incident.

MM save after he ran through gravel was amazing. How he can slide on his knee, elbow and then not high side when the tires hook back up. That bike was basically on the ground.

Cal had the pace but he seems to push to hard at times. Nice that he broke the track record.

It was a race incident for sure, as you say tho JL knows better, he was careless, hard to penalise him when he took his team mate out as well leaving MM with an easy win, lucky Zarco on several counts

Interesting the CF swingarm about time Honda tried the obvious, even if it doesn't work it has to be tried

Rossi never made a race appearance on the CF forks Yamaha made, I'm guessing they're so stiff you have no idea what the tyre is doing

Rossi's mileage is just unbelievable. and when they are testing he is no slouch either putting in a lot of laps even in his later years.

Thumbs was talking about Austin not this race in that quote fyi.

The other thing to admire, it's racing miles and does not account for all the training, testing, free practice sessions and qualifying. That's a lot of riding miles!

I find it interesting that the machines (GP18, RCV, RR) that are sporting the carbon fiber forks, seem to be the teams at the sharp end.

I bet there’s three times or more than of the race miles.

BSB Oulton Park - Race 1

High track temperature causes the track to get real greasy, it was a hot day ....watch the bike clear the air cushion and land 30 yds later in the trees, good job there were no spectators ....this happened twice last year in the space of 5 minutes at the same corner, so they moved the marshals post to one side

    Race 2

That bike got some air time, right into the woods! Haslam ran a great race, only 2 points from Ray.

    Lot of guys down early.

Just from what I saw of Jerez, Lorenzo went wide, leaving an open door. Dani, after he turned in and climbed most of the way off the right side of his Honda, could no longer see Lorenzo, and entered the open door.

The last thing Lorenzo knew, before he ran wide, was that Pedrosa was behind him. When he was able to get his bike turned back in, you can see George notice Pedrosa, then try to make a too-late, last second adjustment. The rest was just D-air and Alpinestars airbag inflators going off.

Dovi was the true innocent victim. Might have cost him the championship, though even the greatest fans of underdogs know that Marquez is going to have to screw up big time before anyone even gets close on points.

Dovi is now blaming JL and Dani, well perhaps if he hadn't overshot and pulled JL in after him none of it would have happened

Dovi should be sidelined for unsafely pulling riders in after him.
