I have 2014 VFR800F with 299 miles on it. I also have a Coffman's shorty exhaust waiting in my garage itchin to get on the bike.

What are your guys opinion on how many miles I should put on before I install the exhaust? Manual says break in is complete at 300 and to change the oil/filter at 800.

Do I need a tune after I install the slip on exhaust?

Anybody have experience with this pipe they'd like to share?

    I’d install.
Pretty sure your ecu will self adjust to the exhaust.
Looks to be on the loud side
    Video please

I will post a video after install. Will be recording on my Galaxy s8 so quality will not be that great.

Congrats on your new bike and welcome. You should be able to install it right away without a tune - I may be wrong but I don't recall seeing anyone on either forum with an 8th gen needing a tune after just installing a slip on.

Hiding the beautiful rear wheel behind 12 cubic feet of exhaust is the real problem if you ask me.

I do have my own limits of db level and my GF that's going to be an audiologist soon won't let me have anything too loud so don't worry too much.

Did you weigh your stock exhaust? Bet you shaved a ton.
Sounds good, thought your idle was a tad high
    NO?

I don't really have a good way to weigh them besides taring my own weight and stepping on a bathroom scale. Going out of town tomorrow morning so no time for anything.

Idle feels normal at about 1.5k iirc. Maybe I was holding the throttle open a little bit in the video. Idk. Bike only has a blazing 420 miles on it. I'll look up normal idle and check it out before I head out tomorrow.

You probably shaved at least 7 pounds with the Coffman. Stock exhaust weighs 10.8 pounds and my Delkevic mini carbon without baffle weighs 3.75 pounds and I'm guessing your Coffman weighs about the same if not less than the Delk.

The Coffman is a proper exhaust. Fiberglass packing and three stage baffle. Only marginally louder than your typical slipon with the baffle in.

Eesh. That's ugly as sin. Might as well attach a vuvuzela to the bike.

Do you get the same weight with it in the center? My calibrated scale gives me 12.0lbs.

    The Coffman weighs 2lbs.

That is by far best exhaust that nicely opens up the beautiful rear wheel!!!!!! I have twobrothers exhaust came with the bike it is slimmer than stock but still obtrusive visual wise. I really like the burpy throaty deep sound I get with my current pipe. Either way for the price Coffmans pipe cant go wrong, will be on my list. Thanks for sharing, enjoy your sassy bike.
