I found this bike at a local bike shop and was hoping if you guys could tell me something about them/it. It's a 1984 Honda vf750f and I haven't been able to find pictures of one that looks like it. Thinking the fairing and paint is not factory. Has 21000 km on it aswell. Also is 3500 before tax a good price for these in canada?[IMG][IMG]

Hi Jack. That is a 1st generation VF750. You are correct, those were aftermarket lower fairing from Lockhart and it has been painted. It is worth what you want to pay for a Vintage bike. If you are emotionally attached you may want to pay that. In my opinion (because I was never fond of them) it is too much $$. In Ontario you can get a 1998-2001 5th Gen for the same price roughly, and the 5-Gen is light years ahead of the VF750. However you can get Vintage insurance on the '84 which may appeal to you. Good luck with your decision. See you in Port Perry bike night sometime!

Asking too much, even in Canadian money !

you can find newer and better VFRs for less. don't even consider buying it until they show you that the cams are in good condition.

I think the price is too much. If all you are looking to do is ride a few miles a year, then it may be worth it to you. But if you intend to put some decent mileage on it I would not recommend it unless you have good practical experience working on bikes. Having to take a bike like this to a dealer for maintenance will cost you an arm and a leg .
