Fellow riders....I'm wanting to put together a tool kit for for my 6th Generation VFR, something minimal...don't want to do a valve adjustment on the side of the road, just something to get myself out of a scrape if it ever came down to it. What do you guys think the bare essential tools should be for weekend trips on your bike? I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks guys!

I carry the factory tool kit under the seat and an "Extreme" branded multi-tool, has a ΒΌ" drive socket receiver for which I carry a screwdriver adapter and bits, half a dozen sockets and a 4" extension as well as half a dozen pairs of latex gloves to stop the transfer of grease/grime to the bike and my gear... Also carry tubeless repair kit with CO2 inflator as below:

Standard kit, a tire fixerupper and a few multipurpose tools. Nice space now that the spare R/R that was like an albatross and the grab handles went bye-bye. Harleydoods are known to carry more tools than is normal. HD has a special HD toolkit by WongFong Ltd. that looks like a set of SnapOns including the big red toolbox. The trailer and hitch are included in the price.

Day to day riding - No tool kit
Week long 1000+ mile trips - Assume some one else has the tools
Time broken down on the side of the road - Zero (Go Honda!!!)
Taking a step back, and looking at what I just said, probably time I pick a tool kit.

I cloned the 2005 tool kit - as listed by Honda. Go to one of the OEM parts catalogs to figure out what you will need. To cover the standard tools I used Craftsman stuff. To cover the wrenches (spanners ) and dedicated motorcycle tools, pouch, etc., I ordered via one of the OEM parts sources)
